Why Pruning is a Good Thing for Us Right Now

The Wind of Change is starting to blow through our lives and will continue through May. It is revealing things we will need to change and clean up to get us into the new season coming. Don’t be discouraged during this process.

Been there, done that?

Many people will be tempted to not recognize the season we are in—that God is continuing to do a deeper pruning time in our lives. It is important not to miss this opportunity to grow and go. You will need this to position yourself for the coming breakthrough.

As God matures you spiritually and we go deeper in the Lord, what was dead in one season might still have small roots or tentacles alive deeper down. So don’t be surprised or discouraged if you find yourself having to repeat some deeper cleansing in your life.

John 15 time of pruning

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:1–4 NIV

The result of this deeper cleansing time will be more clarity to you and it will bring you into a deeper relationship with God. Belief systems and older ways of doing things that are no longer effective are being revealed and cut away.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 NIV

This time of pruning will also result in giving you greater spiritual authority in prayer. There is a change coming in which you will start seeing faster answers to the things you ask for. This is because you will start understanding God’s heart and ways and know His timing.

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

John 15:11–12 NIV

God is bringing this brief season of pruning and cleansing to allow you to grow in love and joy. This is the fruit that is going to grow in the places where the old things were previously cut away.

Get ready to walk through a doorway for your advancement that is labeled “John 15.” Deeper cleansing in our lives is never a onetime event. God is taking you deeper in this season, but it will require letting go of the old.

It is going to be fun and fruitful!

Blessings,

Great confirmation! In past seasons missed the part of the scripture where it says, “while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful”. Needing more of God’s fruit! Enjoying this season in a different way, because God has a great end in mind. We become more like Him.

Wow! This really spoke to me and was.confirmed as a true word from God by the eve ts of today. Was i.parting words of wisdom to a spiritual daughter when Papa-God revealed that I was still carrying a root of bitterness against a family member. I thought I had asked for forgiveness, but was show. That I still carried an offense. Ouch! Had to repent openly to this daughter about the offense. Thanks for the pruning, Papa! I want to walk wholly and holy into and through my destiny. Prune away, Papa. For I know that you do it in love for my good and Your glory. Thank you, Doug. You are right on target! Bless you!

For anyone who’s consistently abiding in God in the midst of what seems like (not so favorable conditions) I would recommend reading “Why pruning is a good thing for us right now”. Reading it has given me new insight, & increased my Faith!

Talk about God answering your prayers quickly. We needed a very quick and large sum of funds for some legal matters. I texted two strong prayer warrior ladies in the morning before leaving for work. God answered us by touching two colleague’s hearts. We had not heard from them for close to a year. God is so good. He never leaves us or forsakes us. Blessed be the Lord God Almighty. We thank Him in Jesus’ name. Amen

Awesome! I too have experienced in my spirit about the winds of change. A mighty powerful re-alignment so as the Church can be positioned for a greater anointing thus greater blessings that God Almighty has for us. Nisan is the New Year..starting April. Let us all leave the old behind and allow deep pruning so we can branch out in new growth for what God has for us in the next season. Thank- you Doug for your affirmation.

Our fruit, love and joy, spring forth from our relationship with Father God who heals us and transforms us with The Word (Jesus) and works it out with Holy Spirit. But the interesting note about fruit is that a tree does not hold onto its fruit or it will rot! So when we give away love and joy to others we are continuing a pattern of relationship founded in the Trinity.

Doug I am in total agreement . Some emotions that I thought I dealt with in other seasons have resurfaced even heart issues And attitudes that don’t produce love . The Lord with my attitudes and some thoughts that I have. I want to thank you for all of your daily encouragement and speaking truth into our lives. And also your podcast I absolutely enjoy it. I listen to them weekly. And I journal your seeds of revelation that the Lord gives you. And then I use them in my own life. Thank you again Doug ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is true for me. A couple weeks ago God showed me a character flaw that I had hoped was in the past. Since then I’ve been focusing on eliminating it. I’m glad to see what He is doing with me is part of this bigger picture!!
