How to Align Yourself Prophetically with This Season | Doug Addison with Dr. David Herzog [Episode 65]

I’ve been talking quite a bit about the Days of Awe. This is a period of time that happens at the Jewish New Year. It’s not the same days on our calendar every year because it fluctuates according to the Jewish calendar. The Jewish New Year is called Rosh Hashanah and this year it begins at sundown September 9 and ends at sundown on September 11. Then 10 days later is the Day of Atonement called Yom Kippur, and this year it begins at sundown on September 18 and lasts until sundown on September 19.  

As I’ve said, you don’t have to be under the Jewish law anymore, but it is definitely a time you want to pay attention to because …

God is active on this Jewish calendar, especially this time of year. Historically, the Lord releases our destiny for the next year during the Days of Awe. After the Days of Awe there is another significant Jewish feast, called the Feast of Tabernacles. On the last day, Hoshana Rabbah (September 29-30), our destiny for the coming year is released.

I journal all the time and have for a number of years. One day, the Lord said, “Why don’t you go back and look at these times in your journal?” So, I did and realized that God was already speaking to me in these particular seasons. So, now I’m more intentional about it. I take time to slow down and listen to God.

My special guest on this Spirit Connection episode is a good friend of mine who has some great understanding about this—Dr. David Herzog. He and his wife Stephanie are founders of David Herzog Ministries. For over 26 years, they have traveled the world bringing the glory of God. He’s an author, he moves in creative miracles, signs and wonders, he’s also prophetic and has fresh revelation for you. And … David’s Jewish, so he has additional insight into this exciting season!

• “There’s a shift that’s happening so fast that it’s a quantum leap.  Some of the people listening right now, [He] might have you, literally, … move to another location for the harvest that’s about to hit.”
• “It’s called Glory Invasion. So, I go to the streets first and I interview people—like Watters’ World, kind of … ‘What do you believe about the supernatural?’ They say, ‘Oh I believe in Ouija boards, fairies …’ It’s very funny. Then I pray for them and miracles happen.”
• “What I do is get in the heavy glory and then I spread it and I teach others how to get into God’s glory … is the main thing.”
• “… so, it’s a really good time to seek God, even ask Him to cleanse you of anything in your heart from the last year. Even though we should always do that every day, there is something about that day—Yom Kippur—where Heaven does something on the Earth.”
• “A lot of people fast on that day. It’s not legalistic, you don’t have to fast … but I do it, I fast on that day just to get real clarity and I really want to hear God coming into the New Year. It’s a really, really, really good thing to do … to spend that day with Him.”
• “Every day He’s there, but certain days He’s really there and those are the seasons. And if you miss them—sure, God still loves you—but it’s like you’re missing out on a blessing.”
• “What happens is … something is actually going on in Heaven during those times, so when you take the time to honor it, you start syncing with what’s going on in Heaven at those exact times!”
