Cyber-cleanse

I dropped off-line for a while and people have been asking if I am still alive. Our vacation in Florida was relaxing but not long enough time for a full recovery. I came back only to catch another cold. We went down to Cape Corel and hung out at the mall and the beach. I bought a book about Starbucks and went to Starbucks and read it.  Hmm.. there must be more to life.

I actually left my computer at home and spent the week detoxing from the internet. I think we all need a cyber-cleanse every so often. My problem is that I now do nearly everything on my computer (except for sex). I listen to music, get news, read my computer bible, journal, look at photos friends send me, and of course I correspond with people. Are we becoming e-people? I was just talking with Larry Randolph and he said that he finally got an ePod. I think it was an iPod but of course he is from Arkansas Maybe it is i before e except when… I think I need to write a book called no more computerese.

Seriously blog-blocked

I have been so dang blog-blocked over the past few weeks. I keep thinking of things that would make a great blog entry and then I forget them. Maybe it was the antibiotics I took 2 weeks ago. I don’t usually take drugs like that. I went to the pharmacists in Wilkesboro and I could not pronounce the name of the drug pack they gave me so I just call it Jethro-Max because I feel really dumb. I know I am not dumb, I just feel that way. Well, as you can see this really is not funny and I am still pretty fried from my schedule over the past few months. You see, Linda and I are vacation-challenged. Neither one of us are planners so it is tough to get good time off. It is official – we are taking a week away starting this Saturday. That is not funny either but maybe I will come up with something good while touring Florida. We are not taking computers and instructed our staff to only call us if something big happens, like Jesus comes back…

Crash course with destiny

Monday, 09 April 2007

Well, I finally got my life back. Over the past 3 months I have been on a crash course with destiny. I have been working double-time finishing my new 10 session program on discovering your destiny and purpose. It was much more work than I had anticipated. I went to Santa Rosa, CA last week to do the first live seminar version and jumped on a plane to New Jersey where I recorded all 10 session in a studio on Tuesday and Wednesday. I caught a cold and the studio audience did not show up…but I did it and I am looking forward to releasing it by summer. It has already helped save a marriage, start several businesses, and people are losing weight. It’s called Accelerating into Your Life’s Purpose. I am now home recovering. Went to the doctor, took out the trash, and spending the next few weeks catching up on all the tasks I have put off over the past few months, like sleep…

Blue light special
Written by Doug Addison
Tuesday, 27 March 2007

I was in Kennewick, WA last weekend doing an Experiencing the Supernatural conference. While speaking on my new destiny and purpose material, a bright blue light was literally hovering in the back of the room. It was not an impression or a reflection. This heavenly light also known as angelic light stayed there for quite sometime. It was God’s sense of humor, a blue light special in the destiny department. But wait there’s more. I woke up that day to a rumbling noise that shook the hotel. I found out later that the Monster Truck show was next door. Okay, that one was not supernatural but it was pretty surreal seeing a bunch of monster trucks lining outside my window. So much for sleeping in.

Highlights: besides the ones in my hair

March madness is here and luckily there are 5 weekends because I managed to book an event on 4 of them. Since I am rushed, I’ll just give some highlights of happenings that any one of them would make a great blog. I finally replaced my 1970’s Starsky and Hutch black leather jacket. I emptied an entire quart of water in my computer bag at the airport. It was a strange experience to look down and see my bag peeing all over the place. I got a freaky virus on my computer that took me off-line and then on the third day my computer rose again. I figured I’m about to ascend to a new level of computer consciousness. Then Bob Jones told me that God is giving me a “Hand Saw” and you know what that means? I had to ask because I didn’t know (call me dull). Well, God is giving me a hand with my seeing gift. Oh wow, maybe that is why I am hearing God clearly once in while. Like right before I put my water bottle in my bag I thought, I really should check the lid – then I second guessed myself and said, no, I just put it on…

Prophetic constipation

Okay, we got away and got some rest last weekend. On Saturday we just jumped in the car and keyed in the GPS, “Marriott Hotel” on the Atlantic beach and drove. Six hours later we ended up at Carolina Beach, NC. Wow, we really miss the ocean. I had a major revelation on the way. For the past 2 weeks I have been restless and not able to sleep at night. I toss around thinking of ideas. I thought I had gone too far and was in workaholism mode. But to my surprise, I had actually been getting a download from God and did not realize it. When I finally wrote out a few pages of ideas, the restlessness lifted and I have been sleeping great since. Gosh, God was trying to speak to me and I did not realize it. No wonder I could not sleep, I was prophetically constipated. How do you spell relief?

Destination: Destiny

I am usually pretty healthy…except when I get sick. I have been sustained on vitamins until I ran out last week. I hit the wall and caught a cold. I am not just working a lot to work a lot – I actually have a major goal to accomplish. I have been working so hard because I am finishing up a project that has taken over 1000 of writing, research and preparation. It is a new course on accelerating into your life’s purpose. I have been trying to cram it all in during a heavy travel schedule so I can release it by July. It is not all bad, I am starting to dream again, the sun came out, and it was 70 degrees in the middle of winter. Since I am an eternal optimist, things are always getting better. I can’t wait until tomorrow because I am feeling better everyday! We are officially taking some time away this weekend, promise.

Give me a break!

Just home from LA – again! I have been to California 3 times in 4 weeks. I am totally on west coast time which means I am staying up until 3am and sleeping until 11. This must be what it feels like to be a musician. I have been burning the candle at all 4 ends so if you smell something burning it is me. I can tell when I get too busy: I don’t remember my dreams and I don’t update my blog much. God finally spoke to me to slow down by giving me a sign. The car I rented in Bakersfield, CA last weekend could not turn off the parking lights. Finally the battery went dead. Okay, okay I get it. I am taking a few days away sometime soon…before I get into my March-madness schedule. When you love what you do – it is no longer work!

Win a few lose a few

Linda and I were given some gift certificates to go shopping at the Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Sounds like a dream but it was reality. The gift certificates were for merchandise, not gambling.  We happened to be in going to Los Angeles anyway so we went a few days early. We drove to Las Vegas for a night and went on a shopping spree - which was a lot of fun. But when I arrived at the airport, I found that my drivers license was missing. Last time I saw it was at the San Francisco airport where the angel woke me up in time to catch my flight. I don’t think the angel pick-pocked me. I also got my new Ray Ban sunglasses stolen by a valet parking attendant in Las Vegas. So after losing a few items and gaining a few new ones, it looks like things balanced out in the long run.

The King, a coma and an angel
Written by Doug Addison
Tuesday, 09 January 2007

Oh man I had a great weekend in the San Francisco bay area. I used to live there so it was my first time to speak in San Mateo in 7 years. After 3 meetings in 2 days I was pretty tired as I drove from Santa Rosa back to SFO to catch a red-eye back home. On my way I went on a journey to find an “In ‘N Out Burger” for dinner (we don’t have them in North Carolina). After a desperate search I ran out of time and went to Burger King instead. I don’t usually eat fast food but something came over me and I ordered a Whooper with cheese no onions and fries. I guess it was my celebration dinner – whoo-hooo! Since my diet is pretty much low-carb, I had no idea what eating a meal like that would do to me.

I got to the airport and made it to my gate and went into a carbohydrates coma. I fell asleep so deep that I slept through the boarding of my flight even thought I was right under the loud speaker. A dark completed man with sparkly eyes woke me up and said, “Your flight is leaving, you better hurry!” I looked at him and he said, “You are going to Charlotte right?” Drooling on myself I got up to find that the gate was already closed. Then to my surprise they opened the door and let me in. I looked back to thank the man but he was gone. I know this had to be angel. Since I was sitting in an area that was not my gate and there were other flights, there is no way he could have known that I was going to Charlotte. Well, Bob Jones had just told me that there will be angels appearing as humans and to watch for them. Thanks angel – I would have had to spend the night in San Francisco.
