Trances and good tea?
Written by Doug Addison

We just finished the God in the Streets conference with Mark Stibbe and Patricia King in Chorleywood, England. It has been a lot of fun and we learned how to brew a proper cup of tea. I noticed that the tea is exceptionally good in England. Even the Tetley tea that we have in the States does not taste as good as the Tetley in England. I asked why and I was politely informed, “We saw what you Americans do with good tea so we no longer let you have any”. … hmmm… good point.

I had two more strange experiences while speaking in Chorleywood. It thundered several times right while I was making a point about a new way to do evangelism. Then the Holy Spirit showed up. In the next session I actually started to go into a trance again while speaking. This one was much stronger than before and I struggled to gain my composure to finish speaking then it lifted. Too bad…next time I need to just let it happen. In case you are wondering about trances, it is similar to driving down the freeway and missing your exit by miles and you can’t remember driving let alone missing your exit!

Thanks to our friends, Mick & Liz and Steve & Katie for showing us around London.

Pip-pip cheerio and all that rot

I just found out that the majority of my ancestors on both my mother and father’s side are from England. Linda and I are in London and Surrey, England for over a week training people in dream interpretation and speaking at various churches. I got to speak at St Mary’s Anglican Church in West Horsley. The building was from 1100 AD and Sir Walter Raleigh’s head is buried under the organ. Wow, how does No More Christianese work here? I am excited for what God is going to do with the small group of dream interpreters now trained in Surrey. I have been in England 4 times and I finally got to see London. If you ever go, don’t bring your George W. Bush t-shirt. People here are simply brilliant and we had a jolly-good time.

Verbal dyslexia

We had a great time at The Supernatural Infusion conference in Albany, Oregon with Larry and Laura Randolph and Bob and Bonnie Jones. The presence and power of God was very evident and Angels showed up as well. In one session as I spoke on trances (biblical of course), I actually experienced one while I was speaking. Nothing like God using me as a demo-dummy. I guess I was doing a demonstration speech.

Speaking of speech, you may not realize it but I actually suffer from time to time with verbal dyslexia. That is when you “wix up you mords” which is extra embarrassing since I am a public speaker! I often have trouble with names like Pon Jaul (John Paul) and Connie Bobber (Bobbie Conner). I especially do this with carried mouple’s names like: Jad and Brill, Wan and Frayn, Cath and Keithy, to name just a few.  Well, God must be trying to heal me because now I am around two couples whose names I can’t mess up because they have the lame setter. Larry and Laura and Bob and Bonnie are good examples. Even saying their names get me grounded again.

It's official - I'm brain-dead

When I met John Paul Jackson, I was a computer programmer and business consultant. He told me that I was actually born right-brain creative.  Since then I started to get in touch with my creative side. I would get thousands of outside-the-box ideas but I had just enough left-brain administration to only implement a few of them. Since I moved to Moravian Falls I have started to feel crazy every time I go in the office. I can’t read a financial statement and I am pretty much worthless with anything involving administration. I started to get concerned about myself. It is hard to run a ministry and manage a staff when you are not there, even when you are. So I went to see a doctor, my friend Bob Jones, to see if he had any wisdom from God. Without telling him anything, he said “The left side of your brain is completely shut down and God is giving you new energy for creativity in the right side of your brain. The only thing your left brain is good for is to be a spokesperson for what your right brain is hearing from God”.

Well, there you go, I‘m officially brain dead. Makes sense why I have been sleeping until noon and getting a new burst of creative energy from 10pm-4am. I have always been a morning person prior to this. The good thing is that I am writing a lot of new stuff. I now need a team of implementers.

High fiber cereal and the next move of God

I have never really figured out why people like Blogs so much. As if your breakfast was not exciting enough, you just have to come to my website to find out what I had. Well, if you if it helps you in anyway, I had low carb / hi fiber cereal, whole wheat toast with macedonian/cashew nut butter. You might be excited to know that I also took the trash to the dump and got the oil changed and tires rotated on my truck. It was pulling to the right, oh my gosh, is that prophetic? What does this have to do with the coming move of God?

Who spilled the beans?

I am on a totally writing jag. 3 weeks ago I got a download of revelation that is tying together a bunch of stuff I have been writing and speaking on for a while. It is like puzzle pieces that are beginning to come together.

I wrote my last book over 2 years ago and since that time I write on a regular basis, mostly articles and I always have a couple of manuscripts that I am working on - but nothing has really come together. It is really hard to travel, speak at conferences, and come home to work in the office all week – then try to get creative. So when the urge comes, I have to go for it. I wrote my last book in Starbucks – from start to finish.

So how does a city guy find a good place to write in a rural area? I found a new coffeehouse called The Spilled Bean located in a neighboring town. The owners just moved to the area from Vale, CO. It has the feel of a big city and is next to the High Schools so it gets mobbed with young people every afternoon. I just put on my headphones and write, and write.  Lots of great energy. You’ll often find me there writing with my iPod on jamming to some good tunes.

I am writing a new CD/DVD/workbook program on how to discovery your destiny and bring radical change in your life. I have been living this for the past 5 years. It is all coming together!

Lightening but no water

I had an awesome time in Tulsa, OK last weekend, besides the fact that the airline lost my luggage again. I found that the secret to not feeling jetlagged is to drink lots of water on the flight, and sit on an isle seat if you know what I mean. Dehydration is the reason you feel sluggish when flying. With the new restriction, you can’t take on water and they server only one little cup…I came home with a pounding headache and feeling pretty miserable. It’s Wednesday and I am still moving a little slow. Oh yeah, God showed up at one of my meetings on Saturday night. There was a literal bolt of lightening that went from one side of the stage to the other. Because God’s presence was thick, most people had their heads down and missed it. Glad it was behind me :O)

God was right again

Still on west coast time. I am up in the middle of the night watching crazy preachers on satellite TV. Is it me or do Christians really look stupid on TV? I don’t know, maybe it was late. Hey, just found out that with the heightened terrorist alert, had I traveled this weekend (remember God told me not to travel?) I would right now be stuck at an airport dumping out my hair care products. That would have been tragic – bringing back wounds from 2 weeks ago.

Very bad hair day

Just got back from the San Francisco Bay area. Wow, 2 California trips in a week. I think I am now back on Pacific Time. I knew it was going to be a good time when the airline lost my bag for a day. Darn, I had to buy some new clothes to speak on Friday night. The tragic part is that I could not find my Cream Pomade weightless hair jell. Besides that, it was refreshing to see how many people there are the ones who are actually doing Prophetic and Dream Team Evangelism on a regular basis. Go figure, one of the darkest spiritual areas in the country – I guess Light really does belong in darkness. I just found out that my next event in Yuba City canceled unexpectedly. I heard God tell me not to schedule anything in it’s place. Hmmm…we’ll see what is up with that?

Rod who?

Spent the weekend in Hollywood teaching a class on prophecy. This is the second time I have been there since we moved. While we lived in Los Angeles I guess you could say we had “grace from God” to endure the harsh spiritual atmosphere. It was my last haircut in Beverly Hills. Thanks to Nu of Bruno and Suni who has cut my hair for over 3 years. It was great to have a Beverly Hills Buddhist Hair Artist. I guess my next big step in life is to find a hair artist in North Carolina – yikes! I called one place and they said “Who’s Rod Stewart?”… I saw another place that was a single wide trailer that had a sign $7.99 Walk-ins Welcome”. Dear Jesus please help me in my darkest hour!
