EVENTS
Q: What is required to have InLight Connection do an event in my area?
A: Please download our Event Request Form and email the completed form to: events@dougaddison.com. We usually work on an offering basis with travel expenses covered. Check the Events Calendar page to see available dates. Once we receive the completed form, we will review and pray about it and then let you know if we can meet your request.
REVELATORY & PROPHETIC OUTREACH
Q: I heard that you guys are doing spiritual readings. What is it?
A: We often go to malls and New Age events and will give people prophetic words from God and we call them encouraging words or sometimes we call them spiritual readings so they will know what we are doing (people may not know what prophetic means). We are using a missionary approach of trying to communicate the things of God to people who may not have a religious background. It’s prophetic (from the Holy Spirit) not psychic. Read John 4 of how Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well. He told her about herself and in turn she went and got nearly the entire city to come to Him.
Q: Isn’t doing spiritual reading and dream interpretation New Age?
A: We are giving people words of encouragement from God through the Holy Spirit. New Age and psychic words are given through sources other than the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus. God is the only creator. If you read the first 6 chapters of John you’ll see that Jesus used words of knowledge and spiritual gifts to draw people to Himself. We are doing what Jesus did. God speaks through dreams. Over one third of the Bible relates to dreams & visions. We use a Biblical interpretive method.
Q: I heard that you are using dream interpretation as a means of evangelism. Where is that in the Bible?
A: Over one-third of the Bible relates to dreams and visions. Twice in the Bible God used dream interpretation to help change the direction of a major leader and nation (Gen 40 and Daniel). Dreams were also instrumental in the life of Jesus (Matt 2). The principle of understanding how God speaks through dreams can be seen through out the Bible. Though Jesus never did dream interpretation, He never gave out tracts either. Interpreting a dream using a Biblical symbolic method does not violate any scriptural principles. Jesus tells His disciples that they need to learn to understand symbolism in His parables (Mark 8). Dreams are simply night parables. We are finding that people are very open to talking more about God just after having a dream interpreted. See Articles section: Would Jesus Interpret Dreams?
Q: If we give an encouraging word or spiritual reading and never get a chance to tell them we are Christians, won’t they go off and think they can get readings from anyone?
A: We are trusting God to water the seeds we plant. We speak into a person’s spirit as opposed to the soul like like those operating in other spirits. So even if they did go to a psychic they will never get a word that impacts them in the same way. Just being in the presence of the Holy Spirit in us can change their life. See 1 Corinthians 2:14
Q: What do we say when they ask who we are?
A: We say that we are Christians but we are probably not like any Christians you have ever met. We believe God speaks to people and we are learning to hear Him. Most people are surprised at the accuracy of the insight we give them and did not know that Christians could hear God!
Q: 1 Corinthians 14:22 says that prophecy is for believers not unbelievers. How then can you use prophetic words to unbelievers?
A: You have to read this in context. Paul goes on to write 2 verses later 1 Cor. 14:24-25 “But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, 25 and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!” Paul describes an unbeliever being drawn to God through the gift of prophecy. Not to mention that Jesus used this gift with unbelievers as well (John 4). The key to understanding 1 Cor. 14:22 is the word “sign” which tells people that God is with you. Paul is saying that if you use the gift of Tongues (other languages) then unbelievers are more likely to know God is with you. I believe that most Christians have lost the art of reading the Bible in context!
DREAMS
Q: Can I get a dream interpreted?
A: We currently do not have the staff for the zillions of dreams that people are having. We are working on it though. In the meantime, we highly recommend taking our online dream training if you would like to grow in dream interpretation. During the training you also have the opportunity to submit one short(1-2 paragraph) dream for interpretation during the webcast. Information about our online training can be found here
Q: Can I find out where your Dream Teams are having events?
A: Our Dream Teams are primarily evangelistic therefore we do not disclose the locations of our events. We go to many major events, bookstores, and coffeehouses. However, we will be doing Dream Interpretation workshops in which you can come to a half day seminar and get a dream interpreted. Watch our Events Calendar.
Q: How can I get training in interpreting dreams?

Q: Where can I send a prayer request?
A: Because of the high volume of emails received and our limited staff, we are unable to respond personally to prayer requests we receive. Thanks for understanding.
OUTREACH CENTER IN HOLLYWOOD
Q: I thought you were opening an outreach center in Hollywood, CA?
A: We spent 3 years training and developing an outreach team in Los Angeles. After diligently searching for a building for our outreach coffeehouse we found nothing but closed doors. After seeking advice and prayer we felt God directing us to merge our outreach group with a newly developing church plant called the Breakpoint Bridge. This vision of reaching people in he Hollywood area is still happening in Los Angeles and InLight Connection continues to train and support this group.
Q: I heard that you got a grant to help start the outreach center. What happened with that?
A: We used some of the grant money on outreach events and training in Los Angeles. We gave the majority of the grant back to the Foursquare Foundation once we determined that we could not complete the project as specified. We are still in good standings with the Foursquare Foundation.
Q: I heard you moved away from Los Angeles, CA. Where are you now and what are you doing?
A: After a series of supernatural events, God clearly directed us to move from Los Angeles to Moravian Falls, North Carolina. We are still traveling internationally training people in hearing God, dreams and visions, and prophetic evangelism.
