New Focus: We arrived in Los Angeles nearly three years ago with a vision of launching a coffeehouse-based outreach center. After two years of developing our team, we received a grant to help us get our coffeehouse going. To our surprise, after months of diligently looking for a building, we have found nothing but closed doors. After a lot prayer and getting advice, we believe that God is directing us to not focus on a building but instead, develop deeper relationships with people who need His love. 

Although we feel that the coffeehouse vision is from God, we are putting the building project on hold for now. We will be shifting our efforts to continue to do outreach events and training within the context of a network of small gatherings that will meet in homes and in coffee shops.  We are merging our Los Angeles Spirit Connection core team with our newly developing church plant The Breakpoint Bridge.

The Breakpoint in Los Angeles will be led Gary and Karen Zethraeus with Linda and I helping with the startup and transition. This new church will be meeting in homes throughout Los Angeles and Orange County and will not be meeting on Sunday mornings or in a building. The concept is to help bring people into contact with God’s love and power by developing relationships in small non-threatening gatherings. We will keep our outward focus and continue to do dream and prophetic outreaches.

Freeing up Doug & Linda: As we launch our new strategy and train new leaders, our goal is to free me up to continue to travel and train people on a world-wide level. We have received clear direction from God to make some changes that will allow us more freedom in travel and ability to operate on a bi-coastal level. After a series of supernatural events and much prayer we purchased a home in Moravian Falls, NC and will be moving there in March 2006. InLight Connection will continue to have an office in Los Angeles through June. Linda and I will be coming to Los Angeles regularly to train and do Streams courses and be part of the establishment of the Breakpoint Bridge Church there.

I will still be operating under the spiritual covering of John Paul Jackson and Streams Ministries and will continue as an instructor for their Institute for Spiritual Development. Living in Moravian Falls will allow us to have more peaceful times to write and get refreshed after travel. We will also be in close relationship there with Larry Randolph and Bob Jones who have become friends and spiritual fathers to us.

We believe these changes will allow InLight Connection to fulfill its calling at a higher level.  Our vision is still the same and we are committed to supporting the ministry we started in Hollywood as we transition it to a team of leaders who have a heart and commitment to ministering full-time in Los Angeles. Please continue to pray for us and we want you to know that without your support, we could not do all that God has called us to do!
