It does not take a prophet to predict an earthquake in California since they occur quite often. However, God will give people a heads up of coming disasters to prepare those who as Jesus said, have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

Last February I released the Word for 2005. I felt that there would be a shaking in the west that would signify the release of a new wave of revival. Many people have asked me if I meant the shaking would happen just California or what exactly is the west? I don’t know exactly, except I have felt there will be several major earthquakes all along the west coast and particularly in Southern California, where Linda and I live.

In 2002, prior to moving to our move to Los Angeles, I had a night vision in which I saw a major earthquake that actually changed the landscape. I saw that Los Angeles became an island and water stretched inland for a number of miles. Immediately God began to speak to me about moving to Los Angeles to prepare for a coming revival. Move to Los Angeles in the midst of terrorism and major natural disasters? The safest place you can be on earth is right were God wants you to be.

I don’t know the timing of the earthquakes but I do feel there is a major one sometime this year, though it might not be the devastating one I saw in my vision. Recently I had the chance to talk with Bob Jones about it and he too had a dream in which he saw a large earthquake in Southern California. He also said that there would be earthquakes in the north and south (of the west coast) and that it would not be God’s judgment, but a release of new revival.

In my article, 11:A Time of Transition and a New Move of God, I outlined the history of God moving in North America that seems to happen every 11 years or so. The1906, the Asusa Street Revival in Los Angeles lines up with this pattern. Other major moves occurred in 1950, 1961, 1972, 1983, and 1994. This places 2005 on the calendar for a potential move of God. What will the move look like? Judging by the last 2 moves of God, 1983 Third Wave Charismatic Movement prepared the church for operating in the gifts of the Spirit again. 1994 Toronto Blessing (whether you liked it or not) fanned the flame of the gifts to a new level. I believe this was all part of God’s strategy to prepare us for the next move of a great evangelistic harvest.

How do we prepare? Well, if you live in on a fault line then you really should have earthquake supplies stored along with enough water. Do not be afraid. God wants His people to be at peace so that we can comfort those around us. We can also prepare ourselves for revival by watching for it. There were people who lived in Toronto in 1994 and had no idea God had visited that city in an unprecedented way that rocked the planet. Prepare your heart by asking God daily to reveal and remove anything that would stand in the way from you achieving your full destiny in Him. Restore any broken relationships, confess sin, break out of any negative patterns, and begin to look to God for total personal restoration in your life. Exercise, read your Bible, pray, and most of all be grateful that we are living in the time that we do.
