Super Bowl: Prophetic Sign Seen by the World

superbowl power outage
On Sunday February 3, my Daily Prophetic Word was, “A Prophetic Sign from God will be seen around the world.” During the third quarter of the Super Bowl game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, half the lights went out for thirty-four minutes in the New Orleans Superdome. This was the sign from God seen around the world.

Details to the Super Bowl Power Outage
So let’s take a look at the significance of the numbers involved. It is quite fascinating!

  • When the lights went out, the score of the game was 28-6. Twenty-eight plus six equals 34.
  • The lights were out for 34 minutes.
  • The power outage sign happened in the third quarter (3/4).
  • The winning team’s score was 34.

God spoke to me in more detail about the prophetic significance of the repeated number 34 and the fact that only half the lights went out. First of all, God’s heart right now is for people to encounter His love, power, and acceptance. I have been prophesying for a while about a revival coming to spiritual outcasts; that is people who have been wounded by Christians and the Church. This includes (but is not limited to) people involved in New Age, the tattooed and pierced, and the gay and lesbian community. I have been reaching out to all three of these groups for a number of years and finding that people really are open to God. One problem we are having with reaching people is that Christians have been judging these people harshly for their behavior.

The significance of the sign at the Super Bowl
We are the light of the world (see Matthew 5:14). Half the lights went out because God wants us to notice that we operating at half power. Many Christians keep thinking that God is judging our nation and the world. Yet God is actually holding the Church accountable right now for not extending love to those in need. Love is powerful!

Revival is waiting to happen in San Francisco and other areas but many Christians have gotten caught up in their opinions and dislikes for the spiritually outcast people groups, causing their own light to diminish or “go out.” God spoke to me that pride and prejudice have blinded many Christians. At least half as only half the lights went out.

The significance of 34
During a time of prayer last week, I had an encounter with bright flashes of angelic light and the Holy Spirit spoke to me about the details of the number 34. Ezekiel 34 makes a prophetic comparison: people who need God and sheep. It goes on to say that shepherds who do not have God’s heart of love are allowing the enemy to ravish the sheep. God spoke to me that this prophetic application of Ezekiel 34 is about Christians who have not had God’s heart for people in need and have driven them away. This chapter in Ezekiel is widely used against leaders, but God isn’t talking about Christian pastors or leaders in this context, just regular, everyday Christians.

Many Christians have driven people away from God
You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.” Ezekiel 34:4–5

“‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.” Ezekiel 34:20–22

God is looking for people who show love
God is the judge of each person’s heart and motives. This is a time to step up and be the light in darkness. We really can love people who have been wounded by religion and by Christians who don’t love as Jesus does.

“I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.” Ezekiel 34:23–24

David is symbolic of someone who loves God and will be a warrior to protect and draw the outcasts to God (David’s mighty men were outcasts, 1 Samuel 22:2). This is a time in which we need to have a heart like David for people who have been wounded and driven away from having a relationship with God.

God is making a making a covenant of peace with those who have been wrongly driven from churches and judged harshly. He is repaying them with blessing as a tipping point has happened in the spiritual realm and their cries for justice have reached His ears (Ezekiel 34:25–26). It is interesting that this chapter of Ezekiel ends with verse 31, which was the exact Super Bowl ending score: 34:31.

“You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.” Ezekiel 34:31

Similar prophetic word December 2011
I prophesied on my blog and webcast in December of 2011 that something centered around Candlestick Park (where the 49ers football team plays) will be seen around the world. On December 19, 2011 during Monday Night Football the power went out twice in Candlestick Park. A power surge blew out the old generators. This was a sign saying the old ways of operating will not be able handle the new power coming from God to reach places like San Francisco.

New ways to operate
God is revealing new strategic ways to operate so that we can be more effective in our changing times. Here are a few things you can do now:

  • Break through religiosity, which is being too religious to connect with people.

  • Love people unconditionally like Jesus did. You don’t have to agree with people to love them. Being nice in the face of disagreement is a start.

  • Separate religion from politics. God’s heart is for people not political parties. You can indeed be politically active but we cannot justify hatred toward people as “hating what they represent.”

  • Allow people time to experience God. Sometimes requiring them to change too quickly will do more harm than good.

God’s job versus our job
Jesus said in John 16:8 that the Holy Spirit will come and convict the world of guilt in regard to sin. God’s task is to convict people of sin, and ours is to love people. “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). And when we do love people, and also love one another, they will know that we are true followers of Jesus (John 13:35).

I realize that this may be a difficult prophetic word for some people. I am doing my best to present what I heard from God without sounding judgmental myself to those who are inadvertently mistreating people. My hope and prayer is that we can all love one another without judging. Love conquers all!

God, help us to love freely like Jesus did. Give us the power to love wholeheartedly, especially those we haven’t loved in the past.

WOW! I purposely researched your site to find what you prophesied in Feb, 2013 because that is the month I hit rock bottom and cried out to Jesus and begged Him to reveal Himself if He was in fact alive and existed. I had a dream of Him that rocked my whole life while fasting for week. It’s a LONG story, but the point is I went from being a child and teen who adored Jesus, yet the CHURCH said I was too worldly and not a real Christian because at the time I liked the boy pop band Hanson and their song Mmmbop and then I liked Britney Spears and N’sync. Apparently, this just made me some kind of heathen. So, in my twenties I thought God didn’t love me, I HATED Christians, and my parents divorced, got my degree in Anthro/Evolution, then spiraled into partying, binge drinking, and continually overdosing on pills hoping to never wake up. But I had a praying mother. She had wrote down prophetic words given to her in her prayer groups and stuff. She was very worried I was going to die or end up in prison. I was so lost and broken inside from all the pain of rejection.

The three prophetic words in August of 2012 while I was STILL very much far away from God, the words/visions were about King David handing me his own heart for the Lord and then he handed me his red Kingly cloak garment and crown. The Lord said God sees my heart is shattered and I am punishing myself and that because of my humility that He will exalt me and that He declares I am the redeemed and she will KNOW Me. Well, I didnt read this stuff until like Feb or March of 2013. I had no idea God was thinking about me long before I was thinking about Him. The past two years everything you wrote in this prophecy is EXACTLY what God has done to ME personally. I learned everything from the Holy Spirit. I stuggled with addiction for a whole YEAR after giving my life to Jesus. It took God a very long time to help me heal all the wounds in my soul and anger toward the Christians who made me feel like God was just another person who didn’t like me and abandoned me and didn’t care about me because I was too worldly. You have no clue on Earth how much crying and inner healing with the Holy Spirit I’ve had to work though because of those adult Christians from my past and it thrills me that God AGREED with me about the injustice and that they He was going to deal with them. I feel so liberated.

I really do hear from God. Perhaps a prophetic gifting is being cultivated in me for a purpose. I am too insecure to claim that yet. But being isolated for two years straight with minimal contact with other people and spending most of my time soaking in God’s presence and weeping over His love for me and overcoming DOZENS of sinful habits and addictions…I know what I’ve done the past two years is something 95% of people in the world will NEVER have the spare time and isolation to do unless they’re in prison or something. God really showed up and He speaks to me in profound ways that align with what other prophets have been shown too like Doug Addison and Dutch Sheets and many others. It is incredible. God is good and He definitely rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Praise God…this is exactly whats been in my heart , life and coming forth in the Living Word of God. This is such clarity and revelation. Many types of different spiritualist have come in my path with such love and appreciation of me. They say Teresa we love you; you have a good spirit. I reply with a hug and thank them. I reply the spirit they see in me is Jesus with a smile. And they show and except me more than most of the brothers and sisters in my local home church. Its ok refuse to hold any rejection but they still see me as the old man or poor poor woman with a horrible past ? Really am the least among them but I still sincerely love them some let me hug but most avoid me . I have been at church events and literally no one sat at the table I sat at. But most of all its about what I need to learn in love not about what they do to me or not. AMEN In the whole 12 years I have many brothers and sisters in Christ but not one friend who wants to see me out the church. No invitations to weddings luncheons etc.Yes, I have opened to my home for fellowships lunch no one ever excepts. Its ok now …..I look forward to coming out of solitude to a new location. This ministry my beloved Doug Addison I believe in my heart will help me in getting clarity and training for the things I have been experiencing in the spirit realm where I have been shunned in the past. Pastor/Prophet Addison I hope you will receive my email sent to moreinfo@dougaddison.org and help me in a certain area which I am at.
Love Love Love this prophetic message someone else receives what I have.
1(one)love in Christ , Thank You Teresa

Doug – thanks for the heart-felt words confirming our sentiments from outside the church that Christians can at times completely miss the picture on what is most important in this world. Let us disagree on the equality of same-sex marriage and those who are seeking truth as best they know possible, and let’s focus on living well: caring for the poor, equality, fighting oppression wherever it can be found. I frankly don’t give a darn if my neighbor sports a tattoo if he loves those around him and cares passionately for the orphan and the widow.

Being a supporter of the words and teachings of Jesus Christ, my deep hope is that your next prophecy follows closer to his teachings, and less on your personal readings of old-testament interpretations on right vs. wrong under the law that you profess as absolute truth to your followers.

    All the best.

Thank you for your word. Look up the reverse order of the final game score in Jeremiah 34:31
“NO more whall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” says the LORD. “For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” (New King James Version)

I was molested by a gay family member too at a young age, and I really don’t care to see his face again. You need to look at the other side of the spectrum Doug. Some homosexuals are very defiant and evil people! And their spread of filth and abomination is changing the course of this nation. They hate christians and it’s moral stance. Can you really show them love and compassion without repentance from sin? Was Lot able to show love and compassion when the men of Sodom were trying to brake down his front door? Love and compassion couldn’t stop a raging mob from wanting sexual intercourse with the angels either. We all know the outcome to that story. Like everyone, all must come to the Cross of Christ and repent, or face eternal damnation.

          Dear EJ,

You are so wrong equating gay people with the intended gang rape in Sodom. If the mob had gang raped Lot’s daughters, you would not conclude that God hates affection between men and women.

There is both evil and true love among all types of people. Most gay people are lonesome and have no affection in life. Yet they get demolished by people like you who place evil stereotypes on them. People who speak like you push gay youth to suicide. Please think before you slander others in God’s Name.

It is good for you to love your daughter unconditionally and pray for her. I would like to point out that God doesn’t tempt us or give us difficult things to teach us a lesson. God loves you and didn’t give you a child that is Gay to teach you a lesson. God gives us free will and if your daughter is gay it is because she chose a gay lifestyle.

Glad to see this. I had no clue where you were going to go with the number 34, until I saw Ezekiel. Then I could hardly believe it. I was introduce to chapters 33 and 34 in 2002. It started coming round again several years ago, just before our church took a nose dive. I can’t not tell you how many times I’ve opened up a bible and have it open to 34. Now, I’m often a bit concerned.. but I love this word. I’ve never heard anyone dare preach on it and can’ count on on a finger or two of the times I’ve even heard anyone address it in any manner. And, after having sat in a Global conference where you taught, I know your heart for those you mentioned, and know you speak from a place of clarity and purity. Bless You!! 🙂

Doug, God confirms what I think I hear Him say through many of your words. He has been working on me for years to strip away my pride, self righteousness, and judgementalism spirit. I thought it was my job to tell people that what they were doing was sin. I saw many people do this so I got the wrong impression from other believers bad example. It was confusing because it was like you be ashamed of yourself until you clean yourself up THEN you may come to God. God opened my eyes by giving me a child who is gay. I have learned to just love her unconditionally and always pray for her.

Hi Doug: Another prophetically significant thing about the number 34 is that Psalm 34 says God is “close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (NIV) You have been speaking about God doing an accelerated healing, so this seems to be added confirmation.

    Blessings,
    Tom
