Positive Change by G-Force: Grace, Gratitude and Generosity

Many of us get the chance to be with family and friends today. These moments are perfect opportunities to grow in our destiny.

And even when we make positive change towards our destiny, I know personally the holidays can be rough when we do not have some of our special people around. But, there is still a way to experience joy in every moment and circumstance of your day…

Encouragement
Let me tell you how to not only bounce back from losses, but come back even stronger by taking advantage of the continual opportunities that God places in front of you for positive change. Here are three tools I have used to transform my life that will help you today.

1. Grace
Grace is cutting people slack, instead of cutting them down. It allows us to forgive others. Grace helps us slow down enough to listen to others and understand what they have been through and what they are feeling. Grace helps us develop patience and greater character that will set us apart.

God’s love for us is given as a free gift. This is often referred to as the grace of God. And we are encouraged to show this same grace to others. “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” Matthew 7:12a NIV

  • Grace Challenge: Where is your opportunity today to offer grace to someone?

2. Gratitude
When you have gratitude flowing in your life, you find ways to love and connect with others because you are grateful for all that you have received from God.

Gratitude is a sense of indebtedness to God and those around you. You can never pay back God for your life, so you practice thankfulness by freely giving to others. Gratitude allows you to see the best in each situation and to be thankful for every part of your life.

The apostle Paul talks about how important it is to be grateful:

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

  • Gratitude Challenge: Even when it is difficult, what is positive about your situation? What can you give thanks for?

3. Generosity
Generosity goes way beyond the spiritual principle of giving. You may have heard it said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35b.

As this principle takes root in your life, you will move from giving in order to get, to giving because it is good. You will come to a place where you give because it helps others.

  • Generosity Challenge: Be generous with your love today.

Sowing and reaping delay factor
Grace, gratitude and generosity are an important part of a spiritual principle: “…a man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7b

Most people are not aware of how much this principle influences them, because there is a delay factor involved. What you do on a day-to-day basis typically will not affect your life until later. This is one of the quickest ways to see positive change in your life.

Start intentionally, giving away your love and grace with gratitude, being as generous as you can. Doing it consistently, you will begin to see people treat you differently, and things will start flowing your way.

Blessings,

doug-sig
