What “Season of Your Soul” Are You In? | Doug Addison with Elizabeth Enlow [Episode 39]

As a ‘times and seasons’-style of prophetic coach, I get asked one question more than anything else … “How can I find God’s will and timing for my life?”

In this Spirit Connection episode, I share a crash course on discovering God’s will. Knowing the difference between your destiny and life purpose is the first step. Knowing God’s timing helps you know the season you are in right now. Then, as we become intentional about seeking our greater purpose, it’s like finding hidden treasure!

My special guest this week is a good friend of mine, Elizabeth Enlow. She has written a new, life-changing book, God in Every Season, about discovering the seasons of your life. Elizabeth is an amazing woman of God, she’s a spiritual mother to many throughout the nations and a mother of four daughters.

She and her husband Johnny Enlow work as a team to awaken, equip and mentor social reformers to display God’s love. She’s an international speaker and author. I’m so excited to share our revelations about timing and how you can get a breakthrough!

Here are some excerpts from my conversation with Elizabeth:

  • “You can heave real breakthrough where you are right now!”
  • “All pain brings with it … a gift”
  • “When you stuff and hide pain, it’s exhausting to try and protect your own heart”
  • “I knew in theory that God was good and that He loved me … but in my core, I didn’t believe that”
  • “We can experience a fruitful place in all seasons if we embrace it”
  • “If I don’t know how loved I am, how will I love others?”
  • “We can position our hearts with our mouths”

Trying to relate-used to understand this kind of perception back in my thirties,
in a different place now on a very narrow path fast to get through- looking at sixty.
Trust God, others not so much. No one there? Straining prayer, years waiting,
because of moving out and now here.

God has the whole world in His hands, holding all of our little lives together.

God showed me about why people avoid-
Afraid of cause an effect, when many times the very thing they avoid? Underneath?
    Is a REAL blessing,
Some think blessing is what they want!
Yet the real blessing is what the Lord wants you to have!

Sometimes it’s a revelation of things you need not what you want. Other times it’s sowing your efforts in others that is needed.

Sometimes the things people want is the very thing to
“do them in” and put them out of God’s will for them.

Some will say oh that’s a curse not a blessing! Really? Do we even have the spiritual eyes to see the difference? Just pondering that one myself!

I say look you Love Jesus no matter what no matter what, obey Him no matter what? What looks like a curse to others He will reveal as a blessing to you because you follow Him no matter what it looks like feels or smells like.

    NOT talking about sin now-
Talking about things that don’t appeal to our flesh….
    to effect eternal results!

    Ugly things, people, situations?
We like pretty sweet smelling ritzy things that elevate our low down stinking selfish self centered flesh, look around?
Fleshing out all over the place in the house of prayer include.
The me me meme what about me myself and I going on-s.

The persecuted church, elders, special needs-even pets, not seen about. What are we doing?!?
We want the bigger better faster.
So many looked over mistaken for dead the army of God just step over and forget about….,
    Jesus wept. I apologize, grieving.

Elizabeth’s words are so anointed. She clearly walks in love amidst these turbulent times. She is a blessing. I did not quite grasp her description of the soul & spirit thing. The soul & spirit are co-operative but still separate from one another. Perhaps some disagreement here but I still very much enjoyed her interview.

Elizabeth spoke a beautiful prayer. I enjoyed her emphasis on our need to express Christ’s love to a diverse culture. Overall I enjoyed the interview very much.

She lost me, however, on her explanation of the soul and spirit. Most traditional scholars use the term tricotomy” per Thes 5:23 to illustrate that believers are distinctly spirit, mind and body but one person. Basically, I am a spirit. I have a soul which is also known as the mind. Here the conscious and unconscious mind, emotions, human will and intellect reside as well as the personality, beliefs and feelings. I am a spirit who has the mind of Christ which I renew daily in the Word of God which predisposes me to be spirit-led. I also have a body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Yet I remain as one person. She was confusing the spirit with the soul/mind. When we pass on to be with the Lord we are completely sanctified having no sin. What portion, if any, of our emotions or feelings are retained, is pure speculation. Not quite sure where she was going with the soul and spirit topic in both the here and hereafter. Perhaps when I purchase her book I will receive clarification.

Hello Doug and Elizabeth, Thank You for sharing and releasing this book and these words from the FATHER! He really is such a good, good Daddy! I could relate all the way through the entire message.
I believe I’m in a Winter season of my life, but soon it will break out into Spring. Even today as I was going out for a walk in the cool Southern California air and the wind blowing, as I stepped off the driveway, there in the road was a beautiful red blossom❣️I picked it up & took it with on my walk as I listened to your Podcast; then brought it home, put it in water to enjoy it for the whole day as a reminder that God is speaking to me and has great destiny for my life yet to come! Blessings, Love and Hugs to you and your family 🤗
