How to See and Pray from God’s Perspective

Do you feel discouraged or even let down by God? Many times, we can’t see the full picture of what God is doing in our lives because we aren’t able to see things from His perspective yet.

After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1 NIV

Think about how much more clearly you are able to see your surroundings when you’re standing on top of a mountain instead of standing in a valley. God wants us to come up higher to where He is, so we can fully see and understand the wonderful plans He has for us!

Look up, not down

Sometimes we focus our eyes downward at what’s wrong with our situations and circumstances. We forget that God is waiting for us to look up to where He is!

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1–2 NIV

God wants to answer your cries for help! Many people are still living the storyline of their past or trying to deal with their present struggles because they are in pain. God sees you and your painful situations, and He will not leave you alone. God is for you! And if God is for you, who can be against you (Romans 8:31)?

Don’t give up hope

This is not a time to give up hope. You may feel like you’ve experienced loss after loss and simply don’t want to continue hoping, only to be disappointed again. But just when you feel like you’re breaking down—God brings a breakthrough!

You can choose to live each day with gratitude and joy. Focus your hope on the future instead of your current situations and circumstances. That may seem easier said than done, but—in your joy—God will release new strength!

Things can turn around for you in a moment! But focusing on your pain will keep you so distracted that you can accidentally miss the blessings God is trying to release to you!

Prayer strategy

You can use this prayer strategy to help you gain insight:

God, I ask You to …

  • reveal which promises are for now and which are for later (timing).
  • show me what the enemy does not want me to see (discernment).
  • allow me to be seen as You see me, not as the enemy wants me to be seen (favor).
  • repay and release what was stolen and held back by the enemy (justice).
  • show me practical ways to respond to You (wisdom).

Keep your focus on what is ahead and forget the things that lie behind. God gives us new grace and mercy every morning—and every new hour, minute and second.

I will be releasing fresh revelation along with more new and powerful strategies for shifting your life and the world around you in my online workshop—Disarming Difficult Times: Passionate, Positive & Powerful Prayer. Reserve your spot today and begin effecting change in your world!

Receive it right now and don’t give up!
