Why You Don’t Need to Fear Death

Have you experienced the death of a loved one?

Maybe you’re facing an illness, or you feel like you don’t want to go on.

I want to share with you God’s perspective on death, my personal experience with understanding death, and why you don’t have to be afraid!

My heavenly encounter

The Lord took me into an open vision. In the heavenly encounter, the Lord handed me a scroll with writing on both sides that said, “Understanding Death from God’s Perspective.

Jesus handed this scroll to me and said, “Most people don’t understand death from My perspective.”

Death is not a bad thing. Death is actually life! There’s even more life in Heaven than there is on Earth.

We are not alone

Psalm 116:15 was the first verse on top of the scroll:

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15 NKJV

When people die, they become a part of the great cloud of witnesses that surrounds us spiritually.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 NIV

I’ve seen the cloud of witnesses open up. People are praying and interceding for you in Heaven right now, so be encouraged!

Grieve, but don’t get discouraged

Here is the next verse that was on this scroll:

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 NIV

Paul was encouraging people not to get discouraged about someone passing. Yes, you can grieve, but don’t be discouraged by it. Don’t let death hold you back from living and dreaming and doing!

No more fear of hell

Most of my family is in Heaven. I’ve lost a lot of people to Huntington’s Disease, and I was even diagnosed with it before I was supernaturally healed.

I learned during that time that death is nothing to be feared.

Demonic forces get attached to the fear of going to hell and make people afraid of the Lord and the supernatural. That’s the opposite of what God wants to do.

Love is stronger than death

When I went through my four years of affliction, I held on tight to this verse:

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. Song of Solomon 8:6–7 NIV

This is the love the Lord has for you. His love is stronger than your sin and your struggles—and stronger than death!

Breaking off the spirit of death

Some people are so discouraged that they’re asking the Lord to take them to Heaven early.

I encourage you not to do that because that’s coming into agreement with a premature death.

If you’ve done that, just repent now and ask the Lord to give you strength to go on. If you experienced such deep discouragement, it means you have an amazing call on your life!

I hope this brought you comfort, new understanding and freedom from the fear of death. Get ready to do more than you ever dreamed possible!

Blessings,

Praise God I found your article. I’m a 79 year old woman and been saved for over 50 years. I watched my mother and son die of Cancer and have had a terrible fear of the same for most of my life. I got a bad report about 3 weeks ago and have had an awful battle since. In reading this articl of yours i got out of agreement with that spirt of premature death and have repented of not trusting God to choose life unti He calls me home. I would appreciate your prayers as I walk this out.
    Thank you

    Hi Stephanie,

I don’t usually leave comments on many things. My heart sank when I happened upon your comment/post. Now, I don’t know how old you are, but I have felt the same way as you and on more than one occasion. There was a time I wanted to go to sleep and not wake up and I even tried to make that happen. Today, I am so grateful that I am alive in this beautiful world. I learned that things are always changing, always moving. Nothing ever stays the same, including your situation. We can use these times to make us stronger and more resilient. God, at this very moment is molding you into something new and I speak with one hundred percent certainty.

I’ve been so unhappy lately. I don’t understand why I am alive. What purpose do I serve? Most times I feel as if God made a mistake when he allowed me to be born. It’s not so easy to believe changes are on the way when one is surrounded by darkness and feels hopeless. I’m lost and I’m tired. I wholeheartedly wish I could believe things will get better but I’m not quite sure I do.

Hey Stephanie, I am so sorry you are feeling that way. I can say with full confidence that you were not a mistake at all. God not only had a purpose for you but He simply delights right now in who you are. You are His beloved daughter. I am praying now for you to be filled with the joy of the Lord because that gets to be your strength. Many blessings to you.
