How to Love in a Way that Creates Change

This week we celebrate a time of loving one another. Happy Valentine’s Day everybody!

My prayer for you today is that you encounter God’s love in a brand-new way. His love is greater than you could ever dream possible. It creates deep and meaningful change in your life and the lives of those around you.

It was years after I started following Jesus, and even a while after I entered into ministry, that I really grasped the Lord’s love for me. When I got the true impartation of perfect love, everything in my life fell into place. Here’s a little of what I learned while I was living this out.

Encounter the love of God daily

I encounter the love of the Lord every single day of my life. It’s not always effortless for me to receive His love. Sometimes it’s easy to remember all my flaws when I’m standing in the presence of God.

But when the Lord looks at you, He sees your past, your present and your future all at once. And He loves you just the same—now and forever!

God’s love is greater than your mess-ups

God knows what you struggle with and why you struggle with it. He also knows the potential you have to do what He’s called you to do. When you struggle with your identity in how God sees you, this means you’re living in fear!

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18 NIV

Once I truly understood this verse, I finally got healed of a four-year health affliction that was tormenting me. I encourage you to let the love of God wash over you so you can be made perfect in it!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 NIV

Your sins aren’t even written in your Book of Purpose! God’s love has completely wiped away all of your mistakes. It’s time to start living out each day in this wonderful freedom God’s forgiveness has given us.

God’s love is large

Love Is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. 1 Corinthians 13:4 TPT

This is just a small portion of this amazing passage in the Bible about love. I encourage you to read all of 1 Corinthians 13 in The Passion Translation. Many times, reading a familiar Bible passage in a different translation completely opens up new understanding! My favorite part is how it all ends:

Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. 1 Corinthians 13:13 TPT

Everything will eventually pass away, but love will remain. Perfect love is waiting for you. Maybe you just haven’t understood it up until now. This next part will help you.

A love impartation

Many of you reading this may feel discouraged today. Try praying this prayer:

Lord, help me to love the way You love. The message of the world is hatred and revenge, while Yours is love and life abundantly. Help me to rise above the message of the world so I can receive Your better message of love. Your perfect love is filling up my life completely right now.

After praying this, don’t be surprised if over the next few days you feel the strong need to contact friends or family. God might even ask you to apologize to them or renew a lost connection. Maybe you will need to forgive someone or set a situation right that ended poorly.

You can rest in the fact that all of this will be for your ultimate good! No matter what.

I hope this is the best Valentine’s Day you’ve ever had!

Blessings,

Do you know why I have stopped receiving daily prophetic words from Doug. Has there been a change I misser? Would like to continue receiving them if they are still being posted daily.
