Storm the Gate of Joy!

A Gate of Joy is before you! Are you going to walk through it?

The prophetic word I gave in June is that medical and supernatural solutions for the coronavirus are being released from Heaven. Seven weeks after Pentecost—which is July 19—a Gate of Joy is going to open up.

Now the thing about gates is you have to walk through them to get to what’s on the other side. Whenever the Lord says that He opens up a gate or a doorway, it’s a spiritual metaphor!

In fact, I heard God tell me to storm the Gates of Joy! Here are a few ways you can do that.

Laugh as much as you can

When times are tough, people start getting serious. No one really wants to laugh when you feel afraid of the future or are anxious about what comes next.

Listen—it’s okay to laugh. It’s okay to do the things that make you happy. In fact, it’s more than okay! God’s encouraging you to do joyful things right now.

[Tweet “God’s encouraging you to do joyful things right now.”]

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:25 NIV

The future is the Lord’s business. For now, just trust that it will be a joyful one. Find ways to take mini-vacations from your struggles. An hour or two, or even a whole day, when you can close the door on your issues and let them be. If this isn’t completely possible due to an illness or something else, try setting aside a time to rest without feeling guilty about it.

Your problems may still be there when you emerge from your mini-break. But you’ll find you have a new perspective and can tackle the issues from a place of prayer and rest!

Increase your times of worship

I don’t know about you, but music has been a great comfort to me lately. I’ve been playing Good, Good Father by Chris Tomlin on repeat. What a wonderful reminder that God has good things in store for us!

What about you? Do you have a song that’s encouraging to you during these times? Let me know in the comments below!

Worship is a way to focus your mind on the stuff that’s really important in life. It reminds you of who’s really in charge—the Lord, your Father!

[Tweet “Worship is a way to focus your mind on the stuff that’s really important in life.”]

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13 NLT

As you worship in this season, you will find your joy start to increase. It will bubble out of you like a deep well. Brooks of blessings will start to flow!

Position yourself

Positioning yourself involves getting deeper healing, growing in intimacy with God, learning to love and coming into agreement with God’s will and ways for your life.

Drop out of that “grumbler’s club” and stay away from negativity. Be very careful what you let in. Most people talk about the eye gate: “Be careful what you see.” But you also need to be careful of what you let in your ears right now.

[Tweet “Be careful of what you let in your ears right now.”]

Step away from negative talk radio, news or negative things on the internet. It’s important to keep informed, but there’s such a thing as being too informed when it messes with your ability to live everyday life without fear.

I can now hear God clearly because I stepped away from negativity and got in touch with God. This is how I moved from seeing demons all the time into seeing angels and God’s solution to problems.

Get ready and do what it takes to align yourself to receive in this new season! It’s going to be full of joy. I mean that!

Blessings,

Doug Addison

Back in July 2013 I hit a very difficult and painful situation which I tried hard to get out of. God said if I would accept the unacceptable, knowing that His will for me is always Good, then He would bring me into His Perfect Will (Roms 12:2) Since then that promise has sustained me through perplexing, arduous times which continue to this day. Last year a friend said that God can work in periods of 7 years and suggested 2020 would be the year of fulfilment of that promise. That will be at the end of this month, July. Maybe the gate of Joy is just waiting. Thank you for that great encouragement. As for songs, as well as wonderful worship songs, like “In Christ Alone,” God often speaks to me through secular songs like “You lift me up” and “To dream the impossible is dream”. Just now it is ABBA’s “I believe in angels” with a few tweaks. Things like
    “ I have a dream, it’s no fantasy
    It helps me reach reality
When you see the wonder of His sacred tale
You can take the future, even if you fail
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pressing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels, something good in everything I see……..
When You know the time is right for me
    I’ll cross the stream; I have a dream “
Probably sounds crazy to anybody else but I KNOW God is speaking through it.
Thanks Doug for this word of encouragement and hope. God is good!! Blessings.

I have noticed I wake up and I have songs playing in my head eventhough no music is actually on. They are just in my head!! And its nice to walk along and singing in my head if I can’t out loud. But most of the time I will sing or say the lyrics. There are so many songs that I have playing on loop…”The Blessing” a powerful song to sing over ourselves, family, friends, anyone really!!! ” May his favor be upon you And a thousand generations Your family and your children and their children and their children Amen,Amen,Amen” some other songs “King of my heart” , “Graves Into Gardens” , “Rattle” (this one is huge for me because God is bringing me back to life right now so the words are powerful for me to sing” just ask the man who was thrown on the bones of Elisha if there is anything he cant do!Just ask the stone that was rolled at the tomb in the garden what happens when God says MOVE! I feel him doing it now this is sound of dry bones rattling this is the praise make a DEAD man WALK again OPEN THE GRAVE IM COMING OUT IM GONNA LIVE GONNA LIVE AGAIN! THIS IS THE SOUND OF DRY BONES RATTLING!!!!” WOW I felt the spirit move just typing those lyrics. That song has been an anthem or soundtrack for me I agree music is a great thing and the words are important ! We are praising God and also singing over our situation! Thank you for this encouraging word on how to STORM THE GATE OF JOY! I’m RUNNING TO THE GATE NO HESITATIONS and There is NO STOPPING ME FROM GOING THROUGH IT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY! NO MORE DEVIL! IM DONE LIVING IN THE VALLEY OF DRY BONES ! THE LORD IS BREATHING INTO THESE BONES AND I CHOOSE JOY AND LIFE!!!!

The song, The Father’s House (I think that’s the title.) Some phrases that are significant are:
“love is on the move when the Father’s in the room..” and “let your shame at the door, it’s not welcome anymore…”
These phrases are significant for our church. In praying in our church sanctuary several months ago, I saw coats, dark and shapeless, standing in the back corner which is a main entrance. The coats had words like “despair”, “depression”, “adultery”, etc. on the back. The coats could not come into the sanctuary because of the presence of the Lord. But it was a if the coats could be put back on as people left the sanctuary…left the presence of the Lord.
That needs to change in our minds…that we can be free of shame in church, but need to put it back on when we walk out of church. God’s presence lives in me/us. We can be completely free of shame.
The song has great significance for me.
Thank you for the encouragement and direction to walk thru the Gates of Joy. Thank you, Lord.
