Question #1
Bob Jones prophesied about an Eagle’s Nest on the West Coast. Can you explain what this means?
Doug’s response
Yeah, we actually started our ministry based upon this word. It was Bob Jones—one of the great, late prophets. He’s in Heaven now, but he gave a prophetic word that there would be Three Eagles’ Nests in the Pacific Northwest, and it happened! Actually, eagles represent the prophetic; nests are training grounds or renewal places. He gave this prophetic word in February of 2001, the day of the earthquake.
One of the Eagles’ Nests would be Kelowna, British Columbia, which was a big move of God. That’s actually where Wesley and Stacey Campbell and Patricia King all came from; they were based there, and the move of God began to happen.
The second Eagles’ Nest would be Albany, Oregon. A move of God happened there at the Vineyard Church. Amazing! Nonstop meetings were going on, healing and glory happening!
The third Eagles’ Nest that happened and has really taken off as one of the main ones was with Bill Johnson in Redding, California.
So, the Three Eagles’ Nests of the Pacific Northwest was a prophetic word that started InLight Connection 24 years ago—to help fulfill Bob Jones’ other prophetic word that a billion-soul harvest would come. We became friends with him and we’re still friends with Bonnie Jones and praying for their ministry.
Bob went to Heaven and then we went to work for John Paul Jackson and some of the most amazing prophetic people… and that’s the word you are referring to. It’s an amazing thing and it’s still happening today!
Question #2
How can I discern between a delay that’s from the Lord and a delay caused by the enemy?
Doug’s response
Great question! I went into this topic in my workshop. If you haven’t seen it, you can still get the replay on the Online Workshop: Hearing God where I went into the details of how to know the difference between the voice of God, yourself and the enemy.
You can do this by studying the last time you experienced it. Look for peace. If you’re in a storm right now, you go back to the last time that you heard God and maybe the last prayer you prayed, where you heard back from Him, when He answered, and then study how that answer came to you. Study the Lord. I tell you, I’ve always been a student of my gifts and continuing to grow in the Lord.
Write down what it is that you’re sensing. Begin to pray, using various Bible verses that help you. Do an internet search on Bible verses, and then begin to pray and agree with others; it’s the biggest thing, to agree with other people. And as you do that, and you begin to grow, you will learn to discern the voice of the Lord. You can do it right now!
Prayer
We pray, Father, for this, the ability to understand the difference between the voice of the Lord, ourselves and the enemy. We pray, Father, that we would be able to study the real thing. And if we’re under attack and getting all kinds of demonic stuff that’s not real, go back to the real! We pray, Father, that You would release Your Holy Spirit over us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Vision
In a vision, I saw someone buying loaves of bread and filling up cupboards. Does this represent divine provision or the Word of God?
Vision interpretation
Yeah, it’s both. You could ask the Lord, specifically, but bread is the Word of God. It’s also provision; it’s symbolic. If you see someone, maybe in a dream or a vision, buying bread and filling up the cupboards, that means the Lord is supplying their needs.
The cupboards mean that He’s going to start to fill your storehouse, and I love the storehouses being filled! The Lord will fill your storehouses for now or for later. He’s giving something: words to this person, through His Word, the Word of God—prophetic in different ways—and He’s storing something up for the future. Great question!
Question #3
I’m moving to a new area. What is the best way to remove curses over finance in that territory?
Doug’s response
Well, first of all, to break anything, you ask the Lord. And I usually repent for anything that I have in common. When Jesus was dealing with Satan, He said that he (Satan) left after He dealt with him in the wilderness, and He said that he (Satan) would return, but he will not find anything in Me (Jesus). So, that’s what we mean by “having something in common” is we get rid of the things that we may have in us that may be related.
Jesus said that Satan has found nothing in Him; that’s why we repent for things. What I do to gain breakthroughs is to repent, renounce and break anything in common.
Ask the Father to show you what it is that you might have in common. Also, ask the Lord to speak to you peacefully. And finally, find a Scripture and get other people to agree with you in prayer. I hope that answers it.
Question #4
I’m a seer, but my vision has been blocked recently. Is there a prayer to release this?
Doug’s response
Seers tend to sense. I’m a seer. I have a prophetic gift where I sense things. So, a seer can include all of the senses and so, if you’re getting blocked, no matter what it is, we need to know. 1 Corinthians 12 has the spiritual gifts listed and there are all types.
If you’re perceiving a block right now, the first thing I would do is ask the Lord what it is that’s blocking you and what you need to break it. Second, write down what you’re sensing and begin to understand, because He’s going to be speaking to you over time. I am watching as the Lord is moving, and I’m just getting this sense right now.
Find some Bible verses to back you up in this situation, and then contend in prayer and ask Him for a breakthrough or a healing strategy that you need. Agree with others, maybe get a text prayer group. You know, one can put 1,000 to flight, two can put 10,000 to flight. A cord of three strands is not easily broken, but where two agree together, then it would be done. It’s important to do. I hope this helps.
Question #5
How can I learn to discern the times and seasons of my personal life?
Doug’s response
Great question! That takes time. First of all, the Sons of Issachar, in the Old Testament, were the prophets and priests that understood the times and seasons. So, you can begin to study them and different things in the Bible. Ask the Lord for the ability to understand the time and season that you’re in right now.
You might start to notice that you may be in various seasons all at one time. Maybe you’re in a different season for your job, your ministry, your family, and even in different seasons in your personal life. And so, the times and seasons take time to discern. Once you learn to discern the voice of God, He’ll begin to speak to you about the times and seasons, and we ask Him to give you that.
Prayer
With all of this, Lord, we ask that You would give us the ability to understand our times and our seasons… where we are right now. We pray that You pull this in, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
