We are living inside of one of the most significant convergences on the prophetic calendar.

This week, Holy Week and Passover overlap—two ancient, sacred seasons landing on top of each other. And when heaven says something twice, in two different streams of revelation, I believe it’s confirming something important. In the Bible, two witnesses establish a matter.

So what are they both saying?

Holy Week–the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday–the last week of Christ’s life prior to His crucifixion. It commences with the triumphant entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem on a donkey, celebrated by the people with palm branches, as they cry out “Hosanna (please save),” celebrating the salvation or deliverance they hoped for from Him. Days later, He is put on trial and then crucified. Holy week then comes to a climactic end with the glorious resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Passover tells the story of a people enslaved in Egypt. God saw their suffering…not just noticed it, but moved on it. He sent Moses, confronted the most powerful ruler in the known world, and after generations of bondage…the result? His people walked out free.

Easter tells the same story on a larger scale. After the cross and the empty tomb: freedom. For all of God’s people. Every chain. Every debt. Finished.

Two events. Centuries apart. Both in the spring. Both centered on the blood. Both ending in the same place…freedom for God’s people.

That is not a coincidence. That is a confirmation!

The Month of Nisan

On the Hebrew calendar, we’re in the month of Nisan–the month of redemption, of miracles, of the transition from slavery to freedom. Jewish tradition teaches that Nisan carries a unique and heightened capacity for supernatural breakthrough.

Here’s what struck me most in studying this…

During Nisan, the traditional prayers of repentance are set aside. The focus isn’t on what you’ve done wrong. Instead, the prayers of Hallel (praise) are lifted…exuberant, joyful, celebratory praise.

God isn’t waiting for you to get yourself sorted out before He moves. He’s inviting you to come with praise. With expectation. Because you are already free.

The tribe associated with Nisan is Judah, which means praise. In biblical warfare, every time Israel went into battle, Judah went first. Not the warriors, the praisers. And every time they did…victory followed.

Praise is not what you do after the breakthrough. It is what precedes the breakthrough.

Three Prophetic Directives for This Month

  1. God is asserting His Kingship. Whatever has kept you stuck…whatever has had dominion over your freedom…God sees it. Just as He saw the suffering of the Israelites in Egypt, He sees what you’re carrying. And He is not passive about it. He is moving. He is saying to whatever has held you: Let my people go.
  2. Let Judah go first. This month, make a counterintuitive shift: instead of leading with your problems, lead with praise. Not pretending things are fine, but choosing the strategy of the Kingdom. Open with who God is and what He has already done. Because praise doesn’t follow victory. Praise produces it.
  3. Guard your words. When Zechariah doubted the angel’s announcement that Elizabeth would bear a son, God shut his mouth for nine months. I used to read that as a consequence. Now, I read it as protection. Zechariah could have spoken death over the promise before it had a chance to be born. So God did something merciful and protective…He closed the mouth that could have killed what heaven was trying to birth.

The word for this month: Guard your words because what you don’t say can protect what God is trying to birth. Keep your decrees aligned with what God has spoken…aligned with His promises that are life giving. Let what comes out of your mouth be faith, declaration, and expectation.

Put It Into Practice: A Three-Step Activation

A prophetic word that stays in the air and never lands in your life is just inspiration. Here’s how to let this one actually land.

Step 1: Establish Kingship. Think of one area of your life where you are believing for freedom. Just one–your health, your finances, a relationship, your calling, etc. Whatever comes to mind first is probably the one. Write it down. Then bring it to the King. Not to explain it or fix it. Just bring it. And declare: God, I am making you King over this area of my life. I am not going to keep carrying this alone. You are Lord. And I am placing this under your authority.

Step 2: Praise. Before you see the answer. Before anything changes in the natural. Before the report comes back differently or the situation shifts…praise Him for it! This is Judah going first. Thank God for the promise. Thank Him for who He is and what He has already done. Praise Him, not because everything feels good right now, but because He is good and that doesn’t change based upon your circumstances.

Step 3: Decree. Write out some decrees this month. Find 3-5 Bible verses that speak directly to your area of believing. Then make them personal–first person, present tense, declarations of what is, not what you’re hoping for.

For example, Jeremiah 30:17 says: I will restore you to health and heal your wounds.

A decree from that verse might sound like this:

“Lord, I thank You for healing and health in my body. I declare that You are King over my health and that You are actively restoring me right now. Every cell and every system in my body is coming into alignment with the perfect creative design of the Father. I am healed. I am whole. I walk in the freedom You purchased for me.”

That’s a decree! That’s bringing it under the kingship of God. That’s Judah leading. That’s the breath of God (“Hey”) being spoken through your lips, in agreement with what heaven has already declared.

Remember, you are not at an ending. You are at the beginning of your harvest, the beginning of your multiplication.

The same God who led Israel out of Egypt and raised Jesus from the dead is moving, right now, on your behalf.

That’s the promise of Nisan. That’s the message of Easter. That’s the confirmation of Passover.

Standing with you in Freedom!
