Healing of hopelessness

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:12 NIV

Part of what the Lord showed me this month is that He is healing hopelessness or hope that has been deferred. It can also be that you have had many promises that have not come to pass, or you got the wind knocked out of you.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. That also means answered prayer—whether it manifests or suddenly you get an understanding of how to pray.

I had to shift my prayers this month… and some things I was doing. I had to shift everything to align with the new revelation and new understanding the Lord gave me.

Radical change

You might have hope deferred but the Lord is bringing radical change, flipping things around to bring you new hope and an amazing future.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11–13 NIV

This verse the Lord gave me should probably be on your refrigerator or on your Bible—whichever you go to most. Just kidding.

The Lord is releasing His plans for finances, repayment, restoration and healing. He’s keeping you safe, giving you hope and a future… and answers to your prayers.

Quite often, we can see the opposite of these amazing promises—those in the Bible and from the Lord. We need to press in, stand on His word and persevere through the storms. Continue to pray, and watch the Lord open up new things to you.

Maybe you are struggling with debt like we are (as a ministry). But we have the word of the Lord that is opposite of what we are seeing… and we take authority over that fear.

Jesus was the One who slept through the storm while His disciples were freaking out. He commanded, “Peace, be still” to the storm.

Prayer: Lord, we pray that if the message from Jeremiah 29:11–13 is out of alignment in our life, even if it’s not our fault… we come into agreement with Your Word. Bring the Jeremiah 29:11–13 alignment. Release Your plan to prosper us. We need finances…

Lord, release Your protection so we will not be harmed [That’s the fear being broken. For some people it’s terror—PTSD and terror from things that have happened]…

We pray You release Your plans to give us hope and a future… and answer our prayers. We thank you, Lord, for Your goodness. Release the Jeremiah 29:11–13 shift over us. Show us what we need to do. In Jesus’ name.

Put on the armor

Another powerful part of the word this month is that we’re getting the swords of the Lord and the Spirit of truth. But also, the armor of the Lord—this is the armor of war! It’s time to put on the armor. I put it on several times a day, as needed.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10–11 NIV

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13 NIV

We’re standing right now, waiting on our financial breakthrough. We’re waiting on many things the Lord is doing right now—healing, revelation and deeper understanding.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14–17 NIV

Sometimes we put on the helmet of salvation first. That’s okay, but it is interesting that Paul starts with the belt of truth. Pray through these verses to put on the armor.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18 NIV

Prayer: We thank You, Father, that You’re doing something new this month with the armor of war and the sword of the Spirit to break us out of hope deferred. We thank You that You’re bringing Jeremiah 29:11–13 into reality over us. Shift the spiritual atmosphere. Father, we thank You for Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
