Prophetic Evangelism: Jacob’s Ladder and Jacob’s Well
Doug Addison
I have always been fascinated with how Jesus interacted with people that were not religious. Interestingly, he seemed to only get upset with people who claimed to be religious but did not love and care for people as God desires. Two particular encounters that Jesus had in the book of John intrigue me: when he first met Nathaniel, and his encounter with the Samaritan woman at a well. Both of these people were not his followers until after Jesus interacted with them using the prophetic gift. Maybe you have heard me talk about this, but here is some deeper insight into it.
In John chapter one Jesus had a conversation with Nathaniel in which Jesus spoke to him prophetically. He told Nathaniel about his character, that he was basically an honest man and that he had seen him under a fig tree. This interaction opened Nathaniel’s eyes and caused him to exclaim, “Rabbi, you are the son of God, the King of Israel! (verse 49)” Jesus went on to tell him that, “You will see the heavens open and angels ascending and descending on the son of man” (verse 51). Jesus prophesied that Nathaniel would have a supernatural experience similar to Jacob’s Ladder (Genesis 28:12). It is not recorded in the Bible that Nathaniel ever actually saw this, but we know it happened because Jesus said it would.
In John chapter 4 Jesus encountered a Samaritan woman who came to draw water from a well…

Your Breakthrough is in Your Current Situation
Doug Addison
On 09/09/09 the presence of God came into my house and I was overwhelmed for over an hour with God’s euphoric love and joy. During the experience I received revelation about ministry and financial breakthrough that God wants to do in people’s lives right now. Many of us have prophetic promises from God about operating at a higher level of ministry but are currently in a job or situation that you have little passion for. There are also people who need a financial breakthrough that will allow you to freely do all the things that God is calling you to. God spoke to me that a key for this breakthrough may lie in your current situation.
My breakthrough
In 1988 God began speaking about being in full time ministry. A few years later I got serious about pursuing ministry training, but the problem was that I still needed to work my full time job to make a living. So I started doing self-study courses and volunteered what little free time I had at ministries that were doing what I felt called to. It seemed that I would never have the opportunity to serve God with the freedom I wanted and have the money to get the training I needed. Then God showed me that I needed to stop living my life thinking about how it will be in the future, begin enjoying the present, and be grateful each day for the job I had…

Update on The New Sound from Heaven
Doug Addison
I have been getting some questions about the article I wrote called The New Sound from Heaven. First, if you have not read my article, start by *reading it before you comment. There is a link to it at the bottom of this posting. You don’t have to agree with me but what I do ask is that if you leave comments that you are nice about it. I want to be clear that what God spoke to me about the New Sound had one purpose, to awaken a revival in the young emerging generation.
Question: “I’m part of a worship/recording ministry, and we would love to know more about any equipment or software that you see as being key to the new sound. Is there any way you can break down the makeup of the music you’re hearing? Are there any particular sounds or samples that stand out? Is it drum-heavy? More ambient? High energy? Does it tend to be more melodic or repetitive? Are there any outstanding instruments? Does it sound airy, or chunky, or fluid, or fiery? Does the instrumentation/programming have a lot of complexity in the time signature and arrangement, or is it fairly straightforward? You mention it “reverberates forever”—do you mean it literally has a lot of reverb or echo effect applied? Is there an emphasis on high-, low-, or mid-range frequency?”
Doug’s answer: I am a musician too and understand music quite well; however, what I heard was advanced…

Don’t Stop in the Wilderness
Doug Addison
The Wilderness
A big mistake we can make spiritually is stopping or quitting during difficult times. Periodically, we all go through a spiritual wilderness which is actually quite normal. God uses these difficult or unclear times to strengthen us and prepare us to be able to stand stronger in the future. We can learn valuable lessons in the wilderness.
Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Some people refer to the wilderness as the “dark night of the soul”. This phrase emerged from the writings of Saint John of the Cross, a Carmelite priest in the 16th century. Over the years I have learned to embrace these times and learn what I need, but I have found that it is best to get out of dry times as quickly as possible. Learn the lessons that God wants to teach you and get out of the dark night, for crying out loud! Some people think you are more spiritual if you live in the wilderness. The Israelites made this mistake when they were freed from captivity in Egypt. They were called to the Promised Land but settled for the wilderness instead.
Hosea 2:14 NIV
Therefore I am now going to allure her (Israel); I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her.
Quite often God will allow us to go into a wilderness…

The Internet: The Next Generation’s Revival
Doug Addison
In 1992 I was at a conference in which the presence of God came and the speaker, John Paul Jackson, instructed us to write down three visions we were about to have. He told us that these visions will surely come to pass in our lives. I was amazed at the clarity of the visions that came to me about my own life. In the years following, all three have come to pass . One of them was about introducing new technology into the Church that will help bring revival. Within a year of having the first vision, I launched a new career in the area of high technology. Ten years later I joined the staff of John Paul’s ministry and began development of a dream interpretation training website, which was later developed by someone else into a very effective internet training website. My call from God has always been to find creative ways through media to reach the world for Jesus Christ.
Aimee Semple McPherson and Rex Humbard
Aimee Semple McPherson was among the first to have a radio station dedicated to broadcasting the gospel in the 1920s. Rex Humbard was the first to have a weekly church service broadcast, and was the first to have a Christian television network. Both of them were evangelists and were forerunners with their callings to reach the world through media. In 2004 I went into Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, which was Aimee’s first Four Square church, and…

A New Sound from Heaven Awakens a Young Generation
by Doug Addison
New sound from Heaven
I keep hearing God speaking over and over to me that there is a new sound that has already been released from Heaven. I have heard prophecies about a new sound coming and many musicians and worship leaders are searching for it. I have not yet heard this new Heavenly sound in any church but I can’t stop hearing it in the spirit.
Music sets the pace for everything. Since God is doing something new in the earth right now, it is only appropriate that it would flow through music as well. Anointed music communicates God’s desire and intention for each of us individually, for our church, our region and our generation. Worship music is not just leading songs that prepare our hearts to hear the Word of God, though there is great value in this. Worship is the cry of the Holy Spirit to lead us into His paths and higher purposes. The new sound will overtake us like a storm and will be different than the way we currently worship. It will catch the ear of a younger generation that has yet to experience God the way many of us have in the past. Prophetic music, radical dance, new songs, and art will be major keys to the new sound and will ultimately usher in one of the biggest revivals in Church history. Just as in previous moves of God, not everyone in the Church will…

Three Demonic Attacks: The Fly, Crab, and Eyeball
Doug Addison
On August 18, 2009 I had a dream which was more of a “night vision” in which God showed me three demonic attacks and how these specific demons are able to work covertly in the life of Christians. I was shown three different types of demons and I was able to observe how they operated. These are three attacks coming against people right now.
How demons work
The insight I received in the dream was that demons were actually created by God and were once in Heaven until they rebelled and were cast to earth along with Satan. What we may not realize is that since they were originally angels in Heaven, they operate similarly to angels and God’s principle. Since they have been cut off from the life source of God, they attempt to gain power back through the connection with God through His people. Since it is not easy for a demon to inhabit a Christian, they have found ways to cling to them and try their best to remain unnoticed. Then when God’s power or anointing comes upon the person, the demon “cling-ons” begin to get empowered in an evil way through the anointing of God. Remember, this anointing was once their life flow and now they love to tap it off and distort it for evil.
Three demonic attacks
The Fly – This demon is so small and seemingly insignificant that most people are not even aware that it is present. Flies are…

The Lost Art of Revelation: Secrets to Spiritual Growth
Doug Addison
Hour of God’s Power
Over the past year, I have had a radical turn around in my spiritual life. Amazingly, it came by going back to the basics of the things I believe, and finding ways to make them a daily lifestyle. Several years ago, while living in Los Angeles, I discovered that my day would flow much better if I spent 30-45 minutes a day doing a focused prayer walk and 15 minutes or so reading and meditating on the Bible. The results were so amazing that I was able to reduce my daily work hours because I knew what I needed to focus on at any given time.
When we moved to North Carolina – in a rural area with snakes, bugs, humidity and four seasons – I tried so hard to keep my “Hour of God’s Power” going, but was not able to be consistent. Eventually I sank back into the tyranny of the urgent and lost the edge I once had. It was pretty ironic that I was living in Moravian Falls, under an open Heaven environment in a cabin that was spiritually active with angelic activity, and I had trouble praying at the level I needed to in order to stay at a deep intimate level with God. It is out of relationship and intimacy with God that everything will flow. Don’t get me wrong, I still prayed and studied, but not at my fullest potential. Part of…

The Realm: The Awakening Begins
Book review by Doug Addison
My ministry, InLight Connection, used to be located in Los Angeles. For over three years we trained outreach teams and helped establish a church there. Our first ministry intern was K.L. Glanville who was doing her graduate work at Fuller Seminary for her Masters in Divinity. She did a lot to help us get established and in return I personally mentored her in prophetic evangelism and helped motivate her to move forward with plans to start a publishing business. She went on to write and publish her first book as a result of my Accelerating into Your Life’s Purpose program.
In her words, “I had my iTunes set on shuffle with the option for about 600 songs. Within one week Doug’s audio message on ‘Getting Out of the SPIN Cycle’ played several times. I had been kind of drifting with my direction, waiting for ‘something’ to happen, but what really impacted me was that you don’t need to sit around waiting for something new when God has already told you to do something. Another thing that’s been helpful is the concept of doing ‘just one thing’ every day. This took many of my overwhelming tasks and made them into bite sized pieces, and allowed me to feel successful. I can encourage myself that I’ve done SOMETHING! “ Several people have written books in a very short period of time by utilizing the Accelerating Into Your Life’s Purpose program.

Decrees are Falling from Heaven
Doug Addison
July 21, 2009
Last April I was talking on the telephone with Bob Jones who told me that he was in Heaven and saw that books were being reconciled regarding people’s destinies. A short while later I was talking with Larry Randolph who said that he saw the court of Heaven in session and there are things about our future that have not been determined as of yet. This explains why so many people feel frustrated and uncertain right now. In my life, I know the direction that God wants me to go, but the specific steps for this new season have not been clarified. We are in a time of transition in which the way we used to do things is not working as effectively as it once did. We are living in a paradox of the old not working and the new having not yet been fully revealed.
Understanding God’s will for our lives is sometimes easier than knowing His timing. The most common way that God reveals His will is through His written word. In 1988 God spoke to me about my life calling through Isaiah 61:1-2, declaring to me that my ultimate destiny was to preach the good news and get people freed from the darkness. Though I began preparing myself immediately, the actual timing of going into full-time ministry did not happen for another ten years.
God will also reveal His destiny to us through prophetic promises, dreams, visions, and spiritual experiences. Many…
