Linda and I went to my family reunion in Raven, Virginia last weekend. I realized what a connection I have with many great Appalachian people. My great grand father, Christopher Addison, was a Baptist lay-preacher. His wife, Rebecca was from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. On my mom?s side of the family we descended from the Cherokee Indians who also lived in North Carolina. So I have a geographic generational connection to where I now live.
