Has God given you a message, but you’re not sure how to get it out to the world?
The good news is that you live in an exciting time when there is so much opportunity to share the message God has given you in a variety of ways.
Here are three ways to get your message out there—starting today!
1. Record a video message.
The great thing about being on camera and sharing God’s message is people can hear your tone of voice and see your facial expressions. It’s an extremely personal way to communicate and makes you feel more tangible to your audience.
Many people are camera shy or get tongue-tied in front of the camera. If you experience this, do what I do: Write a short script of what you want to say to your audience before you step in front of the camera.
And, if you need a little more help than that, there are online teleprompter programs that will scroll your notes as you speak. This will calm your nerves and help you stay on track when sharing your message.
2. Write a book.
Writing a book may seem like a huge mountain to conquer. But it doesn’t have to be!
Here are a few practical tips that helped me get over the mental blocks of getting my first book written.
- Give up on perfection. Let go of the idea of writing perfectly the first time. Just sit down at your computer and let it flow, even though it may feel messy! Remember, you have to get it out before you can clean it up.
- Start with a summary. Start by writing a short description of what your book will be about, who the message is for, etc. Then write a page or so with a bunch of thoughts about what you want to say.
- Create a simple outline from your summary. The hardest part is to give up what you were taught in school or by professional writers. Remember—this is not a formal book report and there are no rules.
- Do not be discouraged by the size of your document. Over the next few weeks, go back through and add more personal stories, things you picked up in your research and other new things God shows you.
Writing a book doesn’t have to be hard or painful, have fun with it!
The best thing I can recommend is—just do it!
3. Share on social media.
One free opportunity you have access to right now is social media. Do you know there are 2.41 billion active users on Facebook today? That makes Facebook the largest “country” in the world!
Share encouraging messages on your social media accounts. Your followers will see it as a nice change as it interrupts the daily negativity they see on their online feeds.
Be a light in the darkness on social media. What a great way to share God’s love!

I approached this 2 years ago in terms of the video message concept, because of my hand disease, at the time I couldn’t write as I used to do. So I created this web page on Vimeo.
So far I’ve garnered 442 thousand viewer hits, thousands of plays, comments etc. I still have my book manuscript sitting in the waiting bin in my office, your words today have encouraged me to rethink that manuscript into a completed work in a book.

I did write a book and got it published. It’s a powerful story of how God works when we choose to forgive. Only a couple hundred copies have sold or been given away. All the platforms that were going to help get the book a wider audience dried up and now I have boxes of books. So the testimony of God’s power through forgiveness is sitting in boxes in my studio. Not sure how to get this particular testimony out to a wider audience.

Glory to God. Doug called me out at a meeting that I would write a book. I have self -published my first booklet. I also write a blog and was published once in the Morning Star Journal. More will follow. I write emails directly to others when appropriate and use FB to speak life into the cyber atmosphere. As Doung’s word was a great encouragement, I will send you all a copy of the little book. Let all your contacts be encouraged to start. Journaling for years got me started.

May I please share with you my ideas 🙂
I’m my life, often times the only people I encounter on a regular bases is my immediate family (and their awesome )
I can relate to your question though,
as I am not on social media at this time either.
Throughout the seasons of my life I have ask the LORD how He wants me to spend my time, and who He wants me to spend it with.
Often times for me that has been in my own home only, and even though everyone here knows my story for the most part, I realize my goal is to encourage them where they are, and share with them how God is speaking to me, and turn my ‘message’ that I may someday be called to stand on stage and share with thousands, (I would love to) aim my message to their unique situations, and find ways to speak personally into each of their lives.
I am the oldest of 6 siblings, and I feel that right now speaking into their lives is the way Godis using my message.
I find whenever I am faithful with those He has already put in my life, that when God is ready, He makes a way for my audience to be bigger, and He provides
For me the new way of sharing my message. I hope God shows you a unique way to share your message too Mary, and who knows, maybe you will right a book after all, if you do, I would love to read it. GOD BLESS YOU

Thank you very much Doug for sharing, I went through my emails this evening and I came across one of your emails and it drew me to just read and search further on internet to learn more of what you are all about. At first I was skeptical, but I thought, I wouldn’t know if I won’t test. For the first time today I opened your email, since I signed up on January 6, 2021, I never got to open your mails. I am happy I did today and thank you for your selflessness to continue to write to us. We live in times where many people claim to be carrying good messages but only to deceive, fake, lie, abuse and many things.
Thank you very much for tips on writing a book. I started writing a book in 2019 October, a very personal encounter book that will encourage many people to always choose the destined road no matter what, and as I was writing, I felt discouraged and I stopped writing. My draft Book now has 15 pages. I believe i can continue writing again.

I saw the recent comment under this topic and thought it time to send some encouraging words out there. After spending much time at Jesus’ feet and listening to Him, (about 40m years), He moved me to write. Journaling first, then emailing and letter writing, then a blog and a booklet, and last year a book. My book was published by a Christian publisher as I want to reach an audience outside of the stream we are in with Doug. Many are not aware of significant voices through history. I am speaking of those who knew Jesus intimately. Allow the Lord to work in your life and He will make you a message to many. Out of that you will speak, write, and do more as He opens doors. Keep walking with Him and you will find He gives you strength to RUN!

Hi Doug, Thank you so much for your daily Prophetic words and this broadcast as they have brought great encouragement to me during a year of severe pain caused from an accident when my recliner chair threw me across the room, permanently damaging both arms causing agonising pain, and keeping me in bed during all the lockdowns here. I now live in Residential care and am well looked after. Still praying of course and do so for you and your wife and Ministry. No more anointing which I used to have daily as we wait the New Thing or Prophetic words. So I waiit like others for the Great Outpouring which He has promised. Praying daily for Trump and the US, and God will haavae His way. have finished my book and now waiting for a miracle to publish it as I don’t’ have dollars. I know this an old post, but still felt I can add something to this conversation that may help a future reader.
Amazon offers a print on demand service. The company will list your manuscript for purchase, and provides you the option to print physical copies and ebooks. With some limitations, you control the price of your book and there are even options available to run limited time discount sales. This service is FREE, Amazon only makes money when a book is sold.
I have 4 children books published this way with various, but limited, success. I have found that hardest part of this option is finding an audience. Your book will be among , literally, hundreds of thousands of others looking for eyes.
If you feel you need to be published, this is an opportunity. Just remember you, and your support team, will have to meet the challenges of promoting your work.
Oh and don’t forget to completely read the terms of agreement.
Holy Spirit has given you a message and it has been given to you to share. No matter the medium you are lead to release it, I believe that word is an important blessing, and I pray for open hearts to receive. God bless you as you walk your mission field.
