The world seems to have come to a halt. But that’s just what’s happening on the surface. God is working behind the scenes. The Lord often took His people into times of quiet reflection.
Here are just a few examples …
- Moses went up to Mount Sinai to hear the voice of God (Exodus 24)
- Elijah rested in a cave (1 Kings 19)
- King David also found refuge in a cave (1 Samuel 22)
- And even Jesus went frequently to the wilderness to pray (Luke 5:16).
Right now, God is giving us the opportunity to quiet down so we can hear Him better.
When you get quiet and really listen, you can enter into a season of accelerated learning so you can finally step into what God has for you!
Here are a few practical things you can do at home to prepare for this season.
What’s the bottom line?
This is a fantastic time to pause and reflect on the root of any issues that have been holding you back.
Here are some questions to ask yourself. Be sure to take your time answering them.
- Am I happy with the way my life is going?
- Is this the life I’ve created intentionally, in partnership with God? Or did life just kind of happen to me?
- What’s the number one obstacle that is stopping me from taking the next step in life?
- Do I feel like something is missing in my life?
- Is there something I want to add to my life, but I’ve been too busy to get started?
These questions will help you get to the bottom line so you can take the next crucial steps God has for you!
Get real with God
Sometimes we try to tip-toe around God. But He knows every thought and feeling we have anyway!
It’s time to be humble and get real—just be 100% truthful—with yourself and with God. You can talk to Him about the desires of your heart.
Remember …
You do not have because you do not ask God. James 4:2 NIV
Many of us are afraid to ask God for what we want. But the next verse in James gives us what we need to know about asking God for our desires.
When you ask, you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:3 NIV
Sometimes we don’t receive what we want because our hearts are not ready. But once we begin to ask from the right motives, God answers us!
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4 NIV
So, be sure to humble yourself and get real with God in a respectful way—but do not be afraid to ask! He’s a good father who gives good gifts to His children.
Take an online course!
This is your invitation to a new and powerful online workshop coming up that I’m incredibly excited about: Strategies from Heaven: How to Prosper in Any Season.
You’ll learn how to prosper financially for the Kingdom of God. Prospering means that you have enough to do what God has called you to do, when He calls you to do it. And, you have enough left over to help others.
I hope this gave you a few ideas on how to step into this unusual time of accelerated learning. Let me know some of your key takeaways in the comments!

Good morning Nikki and Doug
I prayed on the song of Corey Voss- You promised. I asked God to help me through the day and I saw how I sat with a paper of a signed covenant, sealed and ready. I also sat with wedding rings in my hand. I was sitting with the paper and wedding rings at the feet of Jesus and just cried, reminding Him of the promises God made to me.
I have to charge my phone now and will go to the George Herold local newspaper and see if I can write some articles for them. I will charge my phone again and sit down for a while to write.
I will write again later and thank you for your motivation and encouragement.
Take Care
