How to Focus Better in Your Daily Life

Does thinking about New Year’s resolutions leave you wishing you knew how to focus better? You’re not alone!

Many people get stuck when it comes to thinking about the future in a positive light. If you go into 2021 not fully focused on the positive stuff and what you want to get out of it, then it probably won’t be all smooth sailing. Knowing this is true can even add to your stress!

It doesn’t have to be that way though. Here’s how to focus better in your daily life going into the new year—no stress needed!

What you focus on matters

There is a spiritual principle that what you focus on continually eventually comes to you.

If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!
Proverbs 11:27 NLT

How you view a situation is vital. If you continually focus on what is wrong or the reasons why you can’t do something, you eventually convince yourself that you can’t change the situation whether it is based on fact or not.

Decide ahead of time what you are going to focus on in 2021. Redirect your thoughts from negative to positive ones. With just a small amount of effort, you can learn to turn bad situations into good.

Self-fulfilling prophecies

You can create self-fulfilling prophecies about yourself and your situation based on what you focus on. You get what you search for or put your energy into. If you continually think that you are a failure, then you probably fail often—at least in your own mind.

Place the feelings of failure and shame in God’s hands and begin to put your thoughts and energy into finding creative ways to solve your problems. Have fun in the process, and you will have instant change!

Renew your mind

Learning to change your perspective is a step toward renewing your mind as mentioned in Romans 12:2, “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

See? You can choose to focus on good things. And if you do this regularly, your outlook on life will change dramatically. With practice, you will automatically begin to see the positive even in the midst of difficulty.

When you’re in the middle of something big and scary, like a pandemic, the small stuff starts to bother you more. But you can learn to make the most of every situation, no matter how terrible it may seem. It is not worth getting upset over every little thing!

Try to keep it all in proper perspective. Does what you’re upset about really matter in the grand scheme of things? This is all a part of renewing your mind and learning how to focus better on what actually matters!

Don’t worry! The best really is yet to come in 2021!

I had surgery on my left hand in late October for trigger finger and carpal tunnel. I’m still experiencing numbness in my fingers and thumb. The doctor told me that they can be numb up to 6 months. I don’t claim that at all. I exercise my hand and it goes right back to being stiff after a little bit. Even if I use my hand, trying to get it to grab things and do it’s job. It is frustrating that I can not use it like before the surgery. I don’t want to return to work before my hand is healed. I have addressed my concerns to Jesus. Just need some prayer and advice or something.

Your Prophetic words are valuable to me.
I remember you years ago in New Hampshire with John Paul Jackson and Massachusetts.
Life is not easy for many months, in a court case, where my trust accounts have been frozen. The law & justice is elusive, despite 5 letters from my doctor, & 3 tests from 3 doctors saying I do not have dementia. All the doctors reports/ tests the court ignores. They want to put a court appointed lawyer as a conservator on my trust accounts.
Please pray for justice, and no conservator on my money. I have always handled my own money.
    Thank you,
    Myra Walker.
