The Lord is Releasing the Spirit of Elijah

We are entering an exciting time! This month, the Lord is releasing the spirit of Elijah that will turn the hearts of the parents to the children.

This will release the Father’s heart healing, bring spiritual alignment and prepare us for visitations of the Lord. Ultimately, this will get us ready for revival!

What is the spirit of Elijah?

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:17 NIV

The power of the spirit of Elijah was released through John the Baptist to turn the hearts of the parents to the children to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

When the Lord spoke to me that he is releasing the spirit of Elijah, I knew we were coming into a major time of personal revival. God must bring renewal and revival to our own lives before we can reach the world.

But here’s a challenging question: how can we reach the world when we can’t even be loving toward our own family or people in our community that are different than us?

First, the hearts of the parents must turn to the children. Malachi 4:5-6 says when we do not love our children or the children of God, then a curse might be present that needs to be broken.

The good news is, God is releasing the Father’s heart to bring us into alignment in this new season!

Becoming truly loving (natural & spiritual) parents

“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
2 Corinthians 6:18 NIV

It’s time to become truly loving parents—both natural and spiritual.

Some parents have used the fact that it is biblical to use “tough love” on their children —don’t spare the rod. But if we are wounding people, then it is not the Lord’s heart.

As fathers, mothers, older siblings, or leaders, we need to be careful we are not inadvertently hindering people from experiencing the love of Jesus.

My personal journey

I learned this first-hand in my own life. The Lord spoke to me to love and accept my own daughter even though I disagreed with her lifestyle and certain choices. I kept trying to get her to turn to the Lord and did not allow her the process of discovering Him on her own.

Like the father and the Prodigal Son, I learned to love her before she returned home. Through the process, she is indeed changing and encountering the Lord in her own way!

The spirit of Elijah is turning our hearts to others, and as we do this, the Lord will work in them in His timing.

Knowing the heart of the Father

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 NIV

There has been a major worldwide attack of a false understanding of who the Father really is. People have been wounded by parents, pastors, leaders and those in authority, and this has negatively affected the way many view God as Father.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
1 John 3:1 NIV

The truth is, God is a loving Father who is not out to judge or harm you. He loves you and is proud of you!

We must also recognize the false voices coming against us and take authority over every voice that is harsh, judgmental or unloving.

Changing any negative views of God will allow us to hear Him and know His ways so we can receive deeper healing and prepare for a visitation.

Healing the wounded inner child

Have you heard people talk about having a wounded inner child? This is evidence of the lack of the spirit of Elijah. Many with wounded hearts are stunted and stuck due to their painful past. As a result, many adult children are still confessing their childhood wounds.

If you have a wounded inner child, I am not judging you! In fact, I had to get integrated into a healed man and no longer a wounded child.

We must change our language, heal from this and come into full maturity. Through the release of the spirit of Elijah, God is going to bring us out of the painful past and heal hearts.

As this happens in June, we will be prepared for new visitations from the Lord!
