God is Opening Prophetic Mysteries

I recently released a prophetic word for the month of October called Ancient Paths Opening and Special Assignments. This week I want to talk more about the ancient paths in Jeremiah 6:16.

The Ancient Path

This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. Jeremiah 6:16–17 NIV

The “ancient” or old paths in the Bible are revelation and understanding of things that have been previously hidden or sealed.

There are spiritual pathways mentioned throughout the Bible. Jesus talks about the narrow gate in Matthew 7 that will open us to a place of deeper understanding that many people miss or don’t understand.

 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13–14 NIV

Jesus talks about this more …

There is a lot of information flowing in the world that might not be the word of the Lord for you right now. 

I am not talking about prophetic words from other prophets. I am talking about many messages that are mixed with the teachings of the world—psychology, new age and worldly wisdom and teachings.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. 1 Corinthians 3:19 NIV

There is a lot of “mixture” of wisdom or the world mixed with the Word of God. This is similar to the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3.

There were two trees in the Garden; the true pure Tree of Life that connects us to the Lord and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil that is full of deception. 

The Lord is cleansing our understanding

The ancient paths in Jeremiah 6 are based solidly on biblical revelation. The Lord is revealing new and deeper understanding into the Word of God.

Watch for the Bible to be illuminated with revelation and understanding. There will always be a clean and pure confirmation.

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
Luke 24:45 NIV

We are now in a time of the Lord cleansing and renewing our minds and our understanding of the Bible. 

This does not mean changing the message of Jesus or bringing a new understanding of the Bible that justifies sin or behavior that is contrary to the Lord. 

The Lord is going to bring healing and we are being called into a deeper place of intimacy with the Lord and a greater ability to love others.

Cleansing the pathways

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11 NIV

The Lord is cleansing your pathways and getting you ready to hear His voice and encounter Him in deeper ways.
