A Powerful Spiritual Drink

Our assignment for the coming year gets revealed on Hoshana Rabbah, the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles (October 16, 2022).

This is the week to get a drink of the Spirit!

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37–38 NIV

Lord, we pray for the release of living water from Heaven. As You open our assignment books, grant us eyes to see and ears to hear. Lord, release the rain of Heaven! In Jesus’ name.

In John 7, Jesus goes to the Feast of Tabernacles. Jesus does some amazing things in John 7 that are available to us today!

After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do… You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.” After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee. John 7:1–9 NIV

  • Instead of using human wisdom, Jesus pulled back and waited on the wisdom and timing of the Father.

However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. John 7:10 NIV

  • God will give you secret strategies that will align you for the new season.

Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?” John 7:14–15 NIV

  • God can give you supernatural wisdom.

The last day of the feast

Hoshana Rabbah is when Jesus got up and released the water of the Spirit.

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37–38 NIV

How to open your ability to see spiritually

Step 1: Confess your sins and ask God to reveal things that need attention.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23–24 NIV

Lord, I confess sins that I have committed knowingly or unknowingly. Search my heart and show me if there’s anything hidden or offensive to You. Thank You for Your grace that covers my sins and for Your word that says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NIV

Step 2: Take your position in Christ.

I am clothed in Christ (Galatians 3:27).

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 NIV

Lord, I am standing and clothed in your authority. My spirit is seated with Christ in the heavenly realms.

Whether you feel it or not, this is God’s word for you!

I am higher and above every power and principality (Ephesians 1:21) and no weapon formed against me will prosper!

Step 3: Decree and communion.

Lord, I decree Your word over my life and ask that You open my understanding (Ephesians 1:18, Revelation 3:20).

Take communion if possible!

Step 4: Ask the Lord to speak.

Lord, open my eyes to see and my ears to hear. Open my discernment, my senses, my ability to know things, understanding and wisdom.

Step 5: Record what you experience.

Write down what you hear, see or sense!

Opening the heavens over finances

Because of the pandemic, superstorms, fires and floods, the storehouses on Earth have been emptied, but the storehouses of Heaven are full!

There is a release of financial ideas and blessings for your personal needs. These things will help the hurting world and prepare us for revival (Deuteronomy 28:12).

Hearing God for your plan

Let the prophetic plan of the Holy One of Israel quickly come to pass so that we can see what it is! Isaiah 5:19 TPT

God wants us to be blessed so we can be a blessing.

Prosperity is having the freedom, time and money to do what God calls you to do when He calls you to do it.

We need to break off ungodly beliefs about money and the hidden ties to the spirit of greed—Mammon—the spirits of the flesh and the world.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
