Ringing in the Ears & the Gift of Hearing

In this special excerpt, Doug Addison is back from sabbatical and ministering to the Partners. He answers three questions.

Partner question: Is tinnitus [ringing in the ears] related to the gift of hearing?

Doug’s answer:

Whenever you have anything like this (anytime you have an attack) and it’s continual, then it’s linked to the enemy trying to hurt you.

Now, let’s pray for your healing …

Everyone who has something in your body, soul, spirit, your mind, will and emotions …

We declare healing of the ears, tinnitus, vertigo, whatever your issue might be.

Now there is a situation which might occur where you have a “signs” prophetic gift. In this case, you might get a word of knowledge where you get a pain in your body or your ear, and it’ll lift and then you’ll know that there’s something going on. But if you have a continual ringing then that’s the enemy trying to attack you. It could also be both—that you’re being attacked in the area of your gifting, and that you have a seeing or hearing gift or a prophetic gift.

Partner question: I picked up the symptom of “yawning” while ministering with a healing minister in 2018. I’m wondering what this is about?

Doug’s answer:

Lord, we just pray for the healing of everything that’s needed. In Jesus’ name, we pray for wisdom right now. Just break off anything from the enemy—any and all things—whether it’s yawning or any manifestations.

Sometimes yawning is resting in the spirit and sometimes yawning can be a realignment of things. Sometimes it’s just yawning.

And I don’t know exactly the situation here, but we do know the Lord knows, so we’re gonna release the angels and the anointing. I trust the Lord right now … the healing of everything that we need.

Sometimes, the bodily functions are prophetic signs, other times they’re not.

Sometimes the clock speaks to us strongly, and sometimes it’s just a clock.

We just need to know the times and the seasons.

Partner question: What is the meaning of the phrase, “The Lord is raising up a new standard?”

Doug’s answer:

Isaiah 59:19 says that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a new standard. I believe that’s how to pray and stand right now.

We’re in a season of standing and trusting, so specifically, the Lord is raising up a new standard because the enemy is indeed coming in like a flood.

The Bible states that when this happens, He will raise up a new standard.

The new standard might be your situation—healing, angels, finances, encouragement, or whatever it is that you might need right now.

He will raise up a new standard, or He is raising up a new standard, or He’s in the process of raising up a new standard.

It’s the Lord’s will that we don’t suffer, but He will use it. He will cause things to work together for good. He uses everything and sometimes it takes time.
