What Can Cause Delayed Healing

In this special excerpt, Doug Addison is back from sabbatical and ministering to the Partners. He answers two important questions.

Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at DougAddison.com/Give.

Partner question: What may be causing my healing to be delayed?

Doug’s answer:

It’s complicated, but there is a solid word in the Bible that the Lord will indeed bring about healing. And if it gets delayed, that’s the complicated part.

Sometimes you need to continue to stand on the Word. Sometimes you need to walk out the words.

The healing is sometimes instant. At other times, it’s a process. And in our world today, quite often, it’s a combination of both.

You can actually get an amount of healing right now!

Just right now—just like that—just a change of focus can bring healing. Because then, it’s like a rudder of a ship that’s going to shift and start you into a healing process.

It may seem delayed at times, and it could be delayed. It depends on what’s going on in your life or in the world, and we’re in a time right now when there’s a lot of uncertainty.

What we’re gonna do right now is … we’re going to shift those rudders to the Lord. And right now, the Word is clear that He’ll heal you.

And whether it’s an emotional healing, or physical, relationship, you can shift that focus to the Lord. And that will bring change.

Now things get delayed at times and especially these days. We’re in some trying times, but the Lord is faithful. He’s faithful to His Word, and He’s faithful each day.

So, that’s my answer to a complicated question. When healing is delayed, press in each day. And I believe that this meeting, this prayer and this time together is going to align us.

I kept hearing that there’s divine alignment going on. We’re being aligned with the Lord, with the Word of God and with His Holy Spirit, which does not change. He is not like the shifting shadows. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever.

So, I’ll continue to focus on the Word and the presence of the Lord.

If your healing is delayed, I am so sorry. I’m still walking through some things that I need to be healed from, but I’m focusing on the good things of the Lord. He’s been so good.

Each day I try to do my best not to focus on what I don’t have. I do ask. Ask and you’ll receive! I focus on what I do have, and that is the presence of the Lord.

Partner question: There are many mixed messages out there. Are we still in a season of rest?

Doug’s answer:

Yes, we are.

There are a lot of mixed messages, and that’s because we’re dealing with the internet. The key is to focus on what the Lord might be saying to you, personally.

There are all kinds of messages, but we are definitely in a season of rest, restoration and healing!

In fact, I felt like when I came back from my sabbatical … that we’re in a time of hope, restoration, renewed focus, healing and rest. That covers a lot of stuff, but it’s not just rest right now, it’s also restoration!

Rest in the Lord and know that the goodness of the Lord does not fail.

PS: Doug is back from his sabbatical and ready to lead us into an exciting new year of ministry! This is a year full of hope, restoration, and renewed focus.
