Gaining Wisdom for Total Breakthrough

In this special excerpt, Doug Addison is back from sabbatical and ministering to the Partners. He answers three questions.

Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them in full by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at DougAddison.com/Give.

Partner question: Two days ago, I got breakthrough on attacks in my heart and lungs. But then I got attacked in other areas. How can I gain wisdom for total breakthrough?

Doug’s answer: Well, first of all, we’re so sorry for all you’re suffering. We just want to have compassion and release the healing of the Lord.

You said that you got a breakthrough two days ago, that’s great. And you’re doing the right thing by turning it over to the Lord. Sometimes we don’t understand why issues don’t go away immediately, and sometimes healing is complicated, but the Lord’s Word is still here.

Continue to pray. Continue to decree.

Take it off, push it off, do whatever you need to do. Get up and shift the atmosphere around you. Sometimes to cause things to change, we have to get up and get out of the situation we’re in. Maybe you just need to take a walk …

Lord, we come into agreement because she asked for wisdom. And for all of us who are asking for wisdom, we come into agreement with You, Lord … with Your Word and Your ways. We come into agreement with the angels of healing who are needed. In Jesus’ name.

Partner question: My 32-year-old son has Juvenile Onset Huntington’s Disease. What do you suggest for his healing?

Doug’s answer: Oh boy, Huntington’s disease took out my whole family. I was diagnosed as gene positive with Huntington’s disease, but I’ve been healed of the symptoms. It’s a tragic disease.

First of all, I’m so sorry for this and for your son. You know, it’s not an easy fix. With any of the genetic diseases, I would recommend getting as much inner healing and physical healing as you can.

I just started going to as many meetings as I could to get support.

Huntington’s disease took out my mom, aunt, uncles, brother and my two sisters. I’m still standing at my age, and I’m about to turn 66. It’s because of the Lord’s goodness, but that doesn’t mean that you’re not standing or that the Lord’s goodness isn’t in your life. Sometimes it’s hard, especially with complicated genetic diseases.

I’d recommend getting inner healing and breaking off different types of things.

We have a web page called Recommended Healing Resources. There we list ministries that could possibly help him. These situations are tragic, and we don’t think it’s your fault at all.

Anyone who’s suffering—whether it’s Huntington’s or anything mental, emotional, physical or spiritual—break off the spiritual things, release the healing anointing every day and anoint with oil. Whenever you go to church or a meeting, get as much prayer as you can.

So, Lord, we pray for this situation, and I just ask that You would give wisdom.

I had to get wisdom. I had to break off the generational curses because it’s genetic and I had to get around the healing anointing. Break off everything you can and be encouraged!

I would anoint with oil each day and speak over the mind, especially because Huntington’s is something that is a gene. It begins to kill brain cells, and it’s completely tragic.

I watched my entire family pass from this and other things, because it brings down the immune system and stuff. There are other things that start to happen.

We declare right now, in Jesus’ name, that Huntington’s disease be bound and sent out of this boy. In Jesus’ name, we pray right now for all of us … That there would be no backlash or retaliation for all of us.

Partner question: In this season of hope, restoration and renewed focus, how should we wait on the Lord and how will we know what is His part and what is ours?

Doug’s answer: Love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. So, we’re in the midst of this … to release the love of God, release the Word of God and release the healing of God. It’s called contending. Where you still contend … where you have not seen your answer yet. I’m still contending for healing in my life to maintain the healing.

Lord, we pray for wisdom for those who are contending for more, in Jesus’ name.

Right now, we need to be healed of hope deferred. Hope deferred makes the heart sick. But the Lord is going to do something! A longing fulfilled will bring gladness to your heart.

We just pray right now, Lord, for the healing of hope deferred.

Hope deferred means that we’ve been battling like Peter—when they’d been fishing all night and hadn’t caught a thing. Many have been battling and haven’t seen anything.

Some people have been pressing in and caught a cold instead of healing or something else like that …

This is a season of adding hope and healing.

We pray over hope deferred. We pray over the broken heart today. Recently, the Lord was having me pray over broken heart syndrome.

People just need the Lord so badly, and that’s why I feel that this message is not limited to this month—because the Lord is not limited. Just trust the Lord.

Lord, we pray right now for hope. I pray that You would speak to us about the strategies we need. Give us the perseverance.

Some people are coming out of a dry season. But persevere, the Lord is going to do something new!
