In this special excerpt, Doug Addison is back from sabbatical and ministering to the Partners. He releases what the Lord is showing him in this season.
Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them in full by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at DougAddison.com/Give.
Partner question: Which healing and deliverance groups do you recommend? I’ve heard you mention Sozo. Also, can one use self-healing and deliverance?
Doug’s answer: Sozo is a ministry that was developed through Bethel Church in Redding, California. Sozo is an inner healing style.
There are churches that do inner healing locally. Just go ahead and do an internet search and find out if there are churches in your area, or if your church has this ministry. Reach out to other people, ask for prayer, and come into agreement. It’s so powerful!
I don’t know how to “self-Sozo,” but you can do an internet search on the steps on how to pray. We do mention other healing resources at DougAddison.com/Healing-Resources.
Prayer: Father, we thank You for Your goodness. We thank You for Restoring the Foundations, and for all the new stuff that’s going on right now. We thank You for the prayer and deliverance ministries. We ask that You would make it clear what’s needed for each of us.
Partner question: Do prophetic words have an expiration date?
Doug’s answer: Not necessarily, but things can change. Stand on the word and test it. There is a chance that things can change based on your situation or other people.
Maybe it was a word about a certain job, or a word about marrying a person—something like that. Perhaps the other person said no, or something happened to try to derail things. I wouldn’t say a prophetic word has an expiration date, but it can change.
Don’t be discouraged. Like the apostle Paul said, we hear almost like looking in a glass (or a mirror) that’s not clear.
If you look at the process of how the apostle Paul heard the Lord, you’ll know that it’s a process. It takes time.
We have the Holy Spirit with us… I wouldn’t say a prophetic word has an expiration date, but they can change based on how other people might respond.
I thought I was going to be with a certain person years ago and I ended up with my wife Linda. How good is that? We’ve been married almost thirty years now. In the past, it was based on my ability to hear the Lord, or maybe there were different factors. Maybe it was a change of season or maybe I wasn’t hearing right. We don’t always hear clearly. Don’t let that discourage you.
The Lord is with you, and He will speak with you. He wants to speak to you!
Partner question: When standing in the eye of the storm, will my peace cause warfare to the enemy?
Doug’s answer: The eye of the storm… That’s a hurricane. I talk about that quite a bit. I used to have a teaching about standing in the eye of the storm.
Peace will not produce warfare. Peace is your antidote to warfare. Staying at peace will break things off.
If you can stay in the eye of the storm, or better yet, get out of the storm… But we are in storms right now. In fact, the word this month talks about the army that’s trying to besiege us in different ways.
Stay at peace the best you can. That’s the answer.
Sometimes the storm is moving quickly and sometimes to stay in the eye of the storm it causes you to have to slow down. I’ve been slowing down and moving at a slower pace to stay with the Lord. That’s the key.
Don’t stay in the storm—stay in the eye of the Lord. Let His eye be upon you. For His eyes search the earth, and He is with us.
