We are all creative by Doug Addison

God is so cool! He gave us the gift of a new life and His Spirit too. I think it is safe to say that God is very creative. Since we are all created in God’s image (Genesis 5:1) and God is a creator, we all have a built-in desire to be creative as well.

Creativity can easily get lost in our busy lives. Finding ways to express yourself is important because it fills a longing we all have to convey more of who we are and why we are here. Ever notice that people want you to know what they value? They have custom “ringtones” with their favorite song on their cell phone. Some plaster their car with bumper stickers; others messages on their pants, t-shirt or ball cap. It is all part of our need for expression of who we are and what we believe.

Creativity and expressing ourselves is a major doorway to fulfillment. Igniting passion for who we are and what we like to do will radically change the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us. Creativity is the creation and expression of ideas, thoughts and inspirations. It is not just for artists or songwriters, it is for us all!

I would like to encourage you to find ways to be creative. Start a new tradition with your family or friends, give away money randomly, listen to uplifting music, surprise someone and make their day. Do something fun and enjoy the ride called life.
