How to Move Out of Grieving and into Joy

This is the word of the Lord right now: “Since Satan has over played his hand against you, I am going to reveal his plans. I am forcing him to show you what has been hidden and give you a plan to overcome!”

I also heard the Lord say, “Do not focus on the attacks, but in the midst of the storm you are going to see My Light. I am making a way in the wilderness.”

The joy of the Lord is your strength

Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10 NIV

It’s time to move out of the place of grieving over your losses and move into joy, even if it does not appear to be there yet. As you do this, the Lord is going to release new joy and strength.

A few weeks ago, I was being shut down by Satan at my office in Marina del Rey. Grace had lifted for me to be there, so I pressed into the Lord with joy and took some radical steps. A few weeks later, here I am repositioned in a new office in Encino, California!

The change happened when I stepped into the joy of the Lord. I started singing in the Spirit in my storm, and the Lord opened things. Even though I was hit hard, I stayed in a place of joy.

Joy is returning

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalms 126:5 NIV

We have been hit so very hard with the pandemic, super storms, violence and injustices. This is the enemy trying to get you to give up before the breakthrough.

[Tweet “There is power in agreement!”]

One major attack against us was to bring people into isolation. That is bigger than you might realize because there is power in agreement. “One can put 1,000 to flight, and two 10,000. One can be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. If two agree together, it will be done for them.” These are the biblical principles of agreement that Satan was trying to stop.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22 NIV

Notice it says that the lack of joy can “dry your bones.” This is similar to the Ezekiel 34 valley of dry bones and the wilderness. Lack of joy can affect our health. It can crush our bones, dry our spirits and take its toll on our souls.

There is power here to break off these attacks of feeling alone or forgotten. Joy is returning to the house! You might need to take it by force and do things opposite of the attack coming against you. Get up and dance, go for walks and laugh!

Move out of grief

Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll—are they not in your record?
Psalms 56:8 NIV

Right now, the Courts of Heaven are meeting over you, and the books are being balanced for the purposes of promotion and repayment. Your road out of your wilderness is to get out of grief and into joy.

Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 NIV

This is a fresh word of the Lord. There is a proper time to grieve. However, the Lord wants you to step up and out of your storm.

Getting out of the old and into the new

See, I am doing a new thing! … I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 NIV

[Tweet “Step up and step out of your storm!”]

Here are some steps I took into the new things:

  • I began worshiping and singing in the Spirit with tongues, or new songs or worship songs. Just sing and know that you don’t have to understand things in your mind. Maybe you need to sing the song, The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength, especially the “ha-ha-ha-ha-ha” part.
  • I fixed my eyes on Jesus and not my storm.
  • I had to give up on the way I was normally spending time with the Lord. I had to be flexible and just go with the flow.
  • I found some songs that brought joy and had powerful singing in the Spirit. One of my favorites is the Kim Walker-Smith album, Here Is My Song; tracks 9 and 10: Can I Have More of You and Spontaneous Song 5 Live.

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!
Psalms 30:11–12 NLT
