A Traumatizing Belief System in the Church

In this special excerpt, Ray Leight shares a serious concern about a false teaching in the Church that is harming many Christians.

Ray started out the session by saying he has worked with a lot of people doing one-on-one inner healing, specifically dealing with traumatizing beliefs. He’s dealt with all the different aspects of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.

He’s noticed the importance of developing the prophetic movement and discernment. What your beliefs are affect your prophetic gifting. It affects how you prophesy and what you believe about yourself.

Ray’s worked with thousands of people and he wants people to be able to freely prophecy and freely live in the Kingdom.

All of us hear from the Lord. You might think that only “anointed” people do, but that’s not true. We all hear from the Lord in our own way—and in our own lane.

You can do the prophetic in the way God created you, based on your heart’s desire and the way you care for people.

One of the things Ray has seen is that people try to be like other prophets. They’ll even try to prophesy the same way! But when you try to be a clone, it just doesn’t work. God didn’t create you to be them—He created you to be you!

Your prophetic voice should be an expression of who you are in Christ. And because of that, Ray wanted to focus on the most traumatizing belief in the Church …

Ray said, in his opinion, the most traumatizing belief in the Church is that we’re still under the law. And there are a million different ways this false belief is expressed …

Most of the time, people have no idea that what they’re saying is that they’re still under the law … but that’s what they’re saying. And it can cause a lot of destruction.

The enemy is abusing us through leadership, through patterns, through habits, culture … in whatever way he can. He’s trying to keep you from being who you are.

One of the big ways is practical righteousness. God says you’re righteous, but really, you know you’re not … And you think you can’t be righteous because of your behavior. So then we focus on behavioral management, which is self-righteousness. And all this is a cycle of abuse.
