Taking Communion in Community

In this special excerpt, Kirsten Larsen shares insight about filling our thoughts with heavenly realities and taking communion in a more powerful way.

Kirsten started out the session by focusing on a few verses in The Passion Translation. She said that she loves how the translator of that version, Brian Simmons, extracts deeper meaning.

Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm. Colossians 3:2 TPT

For when we pray with the blessing of the communion cup, isn’t this our co-participation with the blood of Jesus? And the bread that we distribute, isn’t this the bread of our co-participation with the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16 TPT

We may not always have the physical elements of the communion, but we always have Jesus, and we are seated in the heavenly realm!

Next, Kirsten led the Partners in a time of practicing the feasting on the heavenly realm.

“We are in the Spirit. We’re all in the same place and we can all be around the world doing this together. Just in your mind’s eye, in your imagination, or in your spiritual senses—just see yourself holding the elements of communion.”

Kirsten said that every time she does this, she gets hit with the Spirit!

“In essence, as we take of the body, we actually partake of the body of Christ, but we do it together as the body. So, by doing this in community and in whole union, we become entangled.”

Kirsten went on to say that to wait on the Lord is to entangle with Him. We become one with Him. He is in us, and we are in Him.

As we take of the body, we also take of the DNA of Christ. We allow His DNA to come into our physical body and bring healing … bring empowerment and strength.

Then, Kirsten led the Partners in prayer:

“And so, Lord, as the body of Christ gathering together, we take of Your body … right now. Thank You, God. We feast our mind and eyes on the treasures of the heavenly realm.

Would You fill our mind, our heart and our body with the presence of the heavenly realm? Jesus, we thank You for Your blood… the blood that was so beautifully shed for us on the cross.

And Jesus, we thank You that as we partake in Your death on the cross as Romans 6 says, we also partake of Your resurrection.

We receive that resurrection power from Your blood. As Romans 8 says, we have His resurrection flowing inside of us! 

We take of Your blood right now to wash away any effects of sin, sickness, death, disease or decay … and we receive our co-burial and co-death with Christ.

We just partake together in community and communion.

We allow Your blood to wash us. And as we receive it, we also receive Your resurrection life and power so that we can walk in everything that everyone released tonight (on the Zoom call) … and all that You have for us.

We receive all the grace and empowerment of the blood and the body of Christ. Jesus, we thank You for the resurrection life flowing through each one.”

Kirsten ended the session by saying that she could feel things shifting and breaking off people. And that the old has gone and the new has come!
