Position Overview

The Social Media Specialist & Copywriter is responsible for managing, creating, coordinating and scheduling social media content across several platforms—including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.

Must be quick, well organized, a strong and conscientious communicator, public-facing individual who has in-depth knowledge of social media marketing, strategy and copywriting.

This position oversees social media campaigns, which include but are not limited to: product launches, research, strategy, campaign & content creation, execution, monitoring, tracking and reporting insights and analytics. Knowledge of some SEO and customer service best practices is also helpful.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks Include:

Social Media Strategy, Scheduling & Interaction

Be able to follow through on social media content from ideation to implementation to execution to evaluation/analytics. We need someone who enjoys social media creative strategy and is able to track, read data, gather insights and make recommendations (in a weekly report). Also, a commitment to serving Doug’s social community and engaging people in a friendly, personal and positive tone is key. Familiarity with scheduling on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram is a must.

Copywriting & Content Development

Write social media copy to create positive, engaging social media posts in line with Doug’s voice that also fit the audience for each platform. Whether you are posting an important announcement from Doug, a weekly blog post, prophetic word, event or product launch or “just for fun” content, you need to be able to get the right word out at the right time in the right tone, while also helping shape the messaging and marketing for Doug’s products. Mastery of English grammar is necessary.

Image Selection & Word Graphics Creation

Those images you see with quotes from Doug on Facebook and Instagram? One of your tasks would be creating those—from choosing the images in alignment with InLight’s brand—to selecting the quotes from Doug’s books, blogs and workshops, and putting it all together into encouraging, inspirational social media content.

Team Collaboration & Partnership

While the position is virtual, we are all highly connected, both spiritually and technologically as a team. We use Slack and GoTo Meeting to connect online. You will need to work well both independently and together with a team to do what it takes to get the job done. Be able to participate in 3 weekly meetings and be available to help out in chat on live webcasts and online workshops. The Social Media Specialist reports to our Content Marketing Director and works with our marketing team.

Ideal Candidates Will:

  • Have a resourceful, can-do spirit and “get er done” mentality
  • Be relational and team-minded and energized by a fast-paced environment
  • Be proficient in scheduling social media posts (on CoSchedule) & monitoring Facebook Insights
  • Be passionate about Doug Addison’s message and the ministry and mission of InLight Connection
  • Have strong personal organization skills, with ability to prioritize tasks
  • Have an eye for details, aesthetic and quality photography
  • Be skilled at discerning and writing from the voice of other speakers and organizations
  • Be able to repurpose and tailor messages across platforms and target audiences, while maintaining consistency in branding and voice

Qualifications

  • Specific experience with the software and services listed above.
  • You must own a fast computer with appropriate programs needed to perform the above responsibilities.
  • You must have high-speed Internet with a backup plan in the event your Internet goes down during a critical deadline.
  • You must be resourceful and research or reach out to other companies or contractors as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Five or more years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Considerations

We recommend that applicants have completed ministry school training and necessary inner healing, along with the experience and background to hold up under the pressures of a busy, active ministry.

Salary

This is a virtual contractor position. The pay is hourly and based on experience.
