I have been hearing the Lord say that California is going to once again be a birthing place for revival. It will be similar to the Jesus People Movement of the 1970s, which was the last known salvation – and healing-based revival in North America.

The new rainbow people

The Jesus People Movement in the 1970s was geared towards the rainbow people—those who had a rebellious (negative and judgmental) attitude towards the establishment (government and authority). The Lord got ahold of that group of rebellious hippies and used them to ignite a revival that has forever changed the Church.

God wants to use a new rainbow people. These are the people of many colors and backgrounds who, like the hippies of the 1970s, were rejected and considered unclean by the Church.

The spirit of negativity is ruling our airways once again. The internet is fueling negativity, causing disagreements and creating an attitude that expects the worst. As I have been giving this message for a number of years, many Christians may not fully identify or realize that they might be negative.

Definition of negativity

“Negativity is a tendency to be downbeat, disagreeable, and skeptical. It’s a pessimistic attitude that always expects the worst.” Vocabulary.com

So what is wrong with being disagreeable or negative? There are spiritual principles involved that can cause our behavior as believers to open or close the heavens based on our words and behavior.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7 NIV

The spiritual principle of sowing and reaping can work for us or against us. If we continually sow grumbling and complaining, we can reap a closed heaven. This means that our grumbling can cause our prayers to not be answered. Even worse, according to the apostle Paul, it can cause our lights to not shine to a world that needs the light and love of Jesus.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. Philippians 2:14–15 NIV

40-day fast

I heard God say to call a 40-day fast for the revival that is about to start in California. As California awakens, the revival will spread all around the world. “Call My people to a 40-day fast from negative talk and negative thoughts and have them replace them with joy and love!”

The Lord was clear: this does not need to be a fast like we have fasted before. This is a celebration of what is coming and it will open the heavens over ourselves, our cities and the revival bursting forth in California.
