Find Out What Your Dreams Mean

live your dream come true make dreams into reality realize yourFind Out What Your Dreams Mean

Doug Addison

Did you ever wake up from a dream that stayed with you like an un-erasable memory? Or wake up and the dream vanishes right away? Here are my tried-and-true tips to help you remember your dreams:

Write

Dream journaling is a must for those who want to hear God through their dreams. If you do not write them down right away, you will most likely forget. Dream journals can go beyond just recording your dreams. You can use them to track how God speaks, cross-reference dreams and even add notes later when the dream actually plays out in your life.

Keep a notepad conveniently located near your bed, and when you have a dream, get in the habit of writing it down right when you wake up. You may want to do what I do: when I wake up in the middle of the night with an important dream I do not want to forget, I make some bullet points on the notepad next to my bed. These notes jog my memory later.

I’ve used an audio recorder before. It might work for you. But I’m way too groggy whispering mumbo-jumbo that I can’t understand my own voice later on. Also, my wife doesn’t want to hear me yapping in the middle of the night while she’s fast asleep. But if you want to use an audio recorder, keep it in the bathroom or step out of the room.

Make a habit of journaling daily. Once you start, you’ll find a whole new world opens up. I told God I was going to journal every day of the year. Now I am hearing God in ways that I never knew possible. God was speaking to me and I did not understand it because quite often, God speaks over time.

Text

Carry something with you to record your dreams or ideas later in the day. Maybe you suddenly remember a dream, something God shows you or a creative idea. Unless you record or write it down, most likely you will forget it again. So, get in the habit of either writing it down, or do what I do: send a text message or e-mail to myself. And don’t forget to get that information into your journal.

Write creativity

Get creative. You don’t have to just write dreams down — you can draw or diagram them. With children, you can ask them to act the dream out for you and write it down, Younger children don’t have language to say what happens in their dreams.

Talk

A good way to start the day is to talk about your dreams with your family or coworkers. Ask one another, “Did you dream last night?” You’ll find that suddenly you remember a dream that you forgot or didn’t realize that you had. Another interesting thing is that others around you may be having similar dreams. This also teaches your children to value dreams and another way God speaks.

Be creative! Let dreams inspire you

Find ways torespond to your dreams, like doing something artistic. If you have a vivid dream that seems to mean something special, be inspired to write a poem, story, song, draw, dance or paint. When you do this, you’ll see the dream has deeper meaning.

Writing your dream is the first step. Because dreams tend to be more animated and spiritual, when you write them down they may lose impact. Writing tends to be a left-brained activity, while dream interpretation is a creative, right-brained function. So remember to write your dreams down, then you can find the meaning.

I dreamt on 7-2-14 about geniuses——— Michael Jackson & Richard Pryor–The late great comedian, Richard Pryor walked in the door of an acting class Michael Jackson (someone born in August).. & I was attending. In the dream we were dating. Richard Pryor went to his dressing room. Michael was pacing the floor studying his scene script, I sat with jealous students studying my script too. Michael was frustrated & didn’t feel ready to perform his script. Michael said, ” I need to learn from him”, referring to Richard Pryor (Wow, a genius learning from another genius..LOL)..Michael went to Richard Pryor’s dressing room. After awhile, I went to peep in on Michael in Richard Pryor’s dressing room, he sat studying his script. I stood wondering how I was going to show Michael my feelings for him, but I said to myself, “He’s Michael Jackson, what would he want with me, I have nothing”..(but love) Suddenly, Michael Jackson came out of Richard Pryor’s dressing room confidently reading his script, as he walked across the floor. Someone said, “Sandra, you’re up next!” I read the script, but they said, “That’s not the correct part.” I asked a student, “Where’s the script? Does anyone have the next part? It seem like they were jealous & try to pretend like they couldn’t find the script. Next, I saw scene from a Eddie Murphy movie, two females driving in a car. One lady got mad @ the other lady because of something she said. Suddenly, a cup of experiment fell into the soda cups of the ladies, because of their body movement,as they argued. They picked up the soda cups & drink & begin to get fat, big breasts, buttocks. They both got out of the car arguing. They picked up an object like a basketball inside a net & begin to hit one another & cursing. One went flying thru the air & landed against the apartment building. The experiment begin to wear off one of the ladies & she begin to get skinny & the other was still fat.(the end) I waken from the dream laughing. Thanks Doug for allowing the Holy Spirit to use you to interpret these dreams. I know it has something to do with someone who is an actor. My former boyfriend is pursing Acting & I have in the past!

I am new to your site. I have been seeking some instruction on dream interpretation so I have purchased some of your materials hoping to figure out a few dreams I have had. Since my birthday I have had these mini dreams that I can’t seen to figure out. I am journaling .but I am still perplexed. I keep seeing some of the symbols from the dream while Im awake now so I believe God is trying to tell me something but I am clueless. I dreamed that I was standing in front of my bathroom mirror putting eye make up on with my left hand and holding a chainsaw in my right. I was wearing a colorless top and green shorts. That is the whole dream. It seems now I see chainsaws everywhere. I used a search engine to find out what a chainsaw might represent but there are some crazy options out there. Can you help? Maria

Hi Doug, I had a dream where I was eating a frog with two other ladies though I did not see who they were. It tasted horrible and I gave the frog back but I did eat it. I had an upset stomach the next day and a bitter taste in my mouth. It haunts me all the time what could it mean?

    Hey Doug,

I first discovered you on TBN I think over a year ago. I think you were on with Carman and you spoke about your comedy and tattoo/dream interpretation, which I thought was sooooo cool!

I just bought your book about interpreting dreams a few weeks ago (on Amazon) and I’m loving it so far. It’s so practical! Thanks Doug for all that you do. It’s so helpful, especially at this phase of my life. God bless 🙂
