Is God Waiting on Your ‘Yes’?

Do you feel like you are meant to do great things? Has God spoken to you concerning the plans and destiny He has for you, but you don’t know how it’s going to happen?

There was a young woman in the Bible named Mary who felt the same way.

She was visited by an angel and told that she would give birth to God’s son … even though she was a virgin!

Mary asked the angel how the destiny spoken to her could possibly be since she had never known a man intimately.

The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” Luke 1:35–37 NIV

God has a word for you

All Mary had was God’s final word that the promise He made to her would not fail. She also knew what struggles this would bring about for her personally. She was supposed to get married to Joseph! How would her community react when she became pregnant outside of marriage? How would Joseph react?

Mary didn’t have all the answers for her future, and that’s what makes her response to the angel so incredible.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. Luke 1:38 NIV

Notice the angel waited for Mary to respond with her answer to the call of God on her life before leaving her. Have you ever wondered what would have happened if she had not said yes?

Is God waiting on your yes?

Mary saying “yes” to God began a series of events that led to Jesus healing thousands and performing many miracles. Her “yes” is what allowed the savior to enter the world. Without Mary, there could be no baby Jesus!

Like Mary, God may be calling you to something extraordinary. It could be that He’s still waiting on your absolute, undoubting “yes.”

Lingering answers

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3 NIV

Sometimes God speaks and things happen right away. Other times it seems that the answers linger, are delayed or they don’t come at all. Not all prophetic words from God come to pass as there are other factors that come into play.

Even though prophetic words may seem to linger and be delayed, many times they come and do not fail you. Listen, the important part is that we trust God to lead us to the greater purposes.

Blessed are all of you who believe that the Lord will fulfill his promises to you.

Watch as 2019 brings the fulfillment of promises you’ve been asking for!

Blessings!

I am very grateful for your words this year, for it was a very good and busy year. Getting my credentials as a Minister, putting together a Woman’s Ministry, and putting together a woman’s conference. With your words of guidance from God. God kept pushing my beyond my self. The blessing I saw in what God was doing in my self and in others is So beautiful. I have seen God move in a friend life in a very big way. He said ,I heard what God was doing in your life can it be the same for me. I said” YES”.A couple of weeks later God showed up and showed off in his life. He received a new 2018 car from a total stranger. Yup, God showed up and Delivered. I currently do not have a job. I do believe I will have one after the first of the year. I will donate then. I love for what you have done for God. You have helped so many of us with our walk with God. THANK YOU.

I’ve known for a long time that the Lord has something big for me to do, but I don’t know what it is. How do I go about finding out what God has for me so I can give Him my yes??

I continue to be grateful for the prophetic Words I have received from you, Doug, over the past three months. I am in transition from one province in Canada to another, with all its attendant adjustments, and challenges to re-establish life in a new environment, as well as reconnecting with family after being geographically distant for fifteen years. The Words you have provided for me have helped me to keep my focus on the Lord and His plans for me when I cannot see what the future holds. I only know that He is with me and wants me to be in this new place. I am working at being patient while in His ‘waiting room’. I know this is a time of growth and challenge, and I thank the Lord for the comfort of His presence, and for the encouragement of your words, Doug.

Your messages are so uplifting. Praise our Lord and thank you. In my life Christmas has been a theme for me. My infant baptism was on Christmas day, although being buried in Baptism did come later. My wedding was on December 25, 1965. Later found out that this day was my husband’s natural grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Before our marriage, Fred and I talked about naming our children Turkey, Gravy, and Cranberry. Well we did have two boys and then a girl. And then also a Pumpkin Pie dessert, a boy. Our choice for a girls name had always been Natalie which means Christmas child. She was conceived on Christmas day in 1973. We do know Who is our God. Blessings and thank you . . .

Thank you so much for your daily prophetic word and for your short devotionals. I have even found some of your messages on YouTube. You have no idea the hope that is being restored in my hunger for more of Jesus through your ministry. I pray the Lord will financially bless me so I can be a blessing to your ministry. God bless you and your family during this special season.
