Some pivotal moments

Years ago, when Sean Smith was in  Argentina, he got the chance to sit with some major revivalists. He asked them, “What is the secret to your revival?” They told him  this: “The secret to revival is the rediscovery of the person of the Holy Spirit.”

On another occasion, a pastor handed him the book Why Revival Tarries by Leonard Ravenhill. That book rocked him and wrecked him! It ruined him for the ordinary. He could never go into an ordinary church service or tidy Bible study again. He wanted to live in the book of Acts, and he wanted the authentic Holy Spirit.

Going off script 

Sean says, “If you want signs and wonders and people getting up out of wheelchairs, you’re going to have to deal with some messes. A  lot of churches today choose to have scripted services when  God is about to take us off script. Not “off scripture” but off script!

We can have more power demonstration and transformation in just a five-minute deviation of being “off script.” 

When the Holy Ghost comes front and center, we will see more Kingdom stuff than anything we could ever produce.”

The regularly scheduled program

When Sean was a kid, he’d be watching cartoons in Northern California, and they’d have earthquake alerts. And so, in the middle of Scooby Doo, they would do the earthquake announcement and kids would just want to return to the cartoon. Then they would hear this phrase: “We now return to our regularly scheduled program.”

In our spiritual walk, that’s the worst thing that could ever happen.

God allowed COVID as a global reset so people  would not go back to the “regularly scheduled program.”

If you don’t believe God could use it, read Ecclesiastes 3 which talks about there being a season and a time for everything. God can use whatever happens. He is still sovereign and in control.

More on the secret to revival

Read this again: The secret to revival is the rediscovery of the person of the Holy Spirit.

Spirit-filled people think they have cornered the market on the Holy Spirit. We think we know Him—that we are tight—but there are levels.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that we are going “from glory to glory.” There’s a new realm of glory waiting for us!

The desperate world                                                                  

The world around us is desperate to see people walking in dunamis power.

They are hungry! They’re doing their chakras, crystals, burning their sage, seeing psychics and immersing themselves in all kinds of witchcraft. There’s been a resurgence of online Wiccan, amongst other things. Simultaneously, people say that their church attendance is dropping.

We have a rise in spiritual hunger, but a dip in church attendance. What is that telling us?

That’s telling us that our brand of Christianity is not known for the supernatural. People are checking out of church!

Maybe we need some people getting out of wheelchairs in our churches! Maybe we need some more cancer healings and people getting delivered. We need devils being cast out! We need drug-addicted people being set free!

We want a place where people who don’t know the Lord can come and experience the power of God! Instead of watered-down services, we need “watershed” services.

What God’s doing

God is equipping you to demonstrate the Gospel of the Kingdom! Especially with what is happening in the Middle East and Ukraine, terrorism, killer viruses, inflation, spiritual confusion, and gender bending, etc.

What is the answer in this hour?

The answer is YOU!
