The Essence of the Gospel

In this special excerpt, James Goll shares some of his hardships and gives insight into collective faith.

Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at DougAddison.com/TimeOff

James Goll began the session by saying that he didn’t want to share a typical prophetic message. His heart was on the essence of the gospel. He spoke about how important the Partners are to Doug and Linda … He said he was moved to tears because that is an example of how the body of Christ overcomes.

Next, James said he was going to be vulnerable, and he told the group about some of his difficulties. He’s gone through cancer three times, he’s had multiple back surgeries that have failed and he’s lost his wife. James spoke about how hard his wife fought. She is an overcomer, and she has a great testimony!

James said that he believes God allowed these things to happen so he could identify with the complexities and difficulties that other people go through, and the battles they face.

James believes we need each other. With some things we face, it’s not our faith that overcomes the world, it’s our combined faith. Sometimes there are four people who pick up a cot and carry someone into the presence of Jesus.

Sometimes you might carry someone, and sometimes someone carries you. That’s the way it works.

James urged the Partners to drop any stones that might be in our hands and pick up the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, “Let’s learn what we already know.”

To illustrate this, the Lord had him go back to the drawing board with some of his books. Even though he had won international awards, the Lord still wanted to speak to him on strategy.

At one point, he had to put a book on pause and put it on the shelf because there needed to be a new wineskin.

His seer book was done for three years, and the Lord told James that he didn’t have the last chapter, and the body of Christ wasn’t ready for the message yet. Finally, at a meeting James was at, the Lord gave him a download about the key of intimacy to open heavens, and he went back to his hotel and wrote that last chapter.

God is mysterious, but He knows what He’s doing!

James ended the session with a powerful prayer:

Lord, I bless these people today, and I’m asking that You would open up things that we don’t know … and that there would be fresh revelation and fresh applications about how to testify what the blood of Jesus has done. Give us fresh applications on how to be overcomers.

InLight Connection thanks James Goll for sharing his heart with us.
