Radical New Changes Coming in the Fall

Radical New Changes Coming in the Fall
Prophetic word by Doug Addison

God spoke to me on Rosh Hashanah
Many of my prophetic friends receive revelation on the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year. I have not really gotten anything significant on this day until last year. On September 30, 2008, while living in Moravian Falls, North Carolina I went to bed and before going to sleep God began to speak to me about a new seven year cycle that began at Rosh Hashanah 2008.

Later I began to research this and was amazed at the amount of information on it. I found that this is the year of Jubilee in which all things become new. The year of Jubilee occurs every fifty years. This is seven, seven year cycles and on the 50th there was a time of celebration, debt cancelation and rest. It is interesting that this Year of Jubilee began in 2008 during one of the worst economic down turns in quite a long time. The banking system and auto industry in the US crashed along with many other businesses. The world’s system crashes at the same time that God releases a new promise of financial freedom to His people. We must see what God has for us and not be swayed by the events around us.

Zachariah’s vision of Joshua the High Priest
God also spoke to me that He is doing something similar to what was written in Zachariah 3 regarding Joshua the High Priest.

Zechariah 3:1-7
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. The LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”  Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”
Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you.”
Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the LORD stood by. The angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua: “This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.

Joshua was the first High Priest after Israel returned from 70 years of captivity under the Babylonians. This was a new time for worship and serving God. Satan had been accusing him and holding him back from his destiny, but the Lord Himself stepped in and rebuked Satan. Joshua was then given clean “rich garments” and an invitation to rule in a new level of authority.

Narrowing our focus
Joshua’s condition mirrors that of much of the Church. We have been in a form of spiritual captivity with Satan trying to hold us back. This is the year that God is stepping in and giving us new vision, wealth, righteousness, and authority. From now until September 2009 will be a crucial time. We need to not believe the reports we are hearing around us, but keep our eyes on what God has promised us. God is bringing new strategies, new favor, new wisdom, and new financial blessings. He will turn the negative circumstances into positive outcomes that may look strange at first.

In 1 Corinthians 7:29–31 the Apostle Paul reminds us that the time is short and things are rapidly changing. A deeper look at the actual Greek text reveals that “since the time is short” is translated from the Greek word, sunestalmenos, which is a common word used in sailing. It means to furl or contract a sail in order to withstand high winds and remain stable. Furling prevents a boat from capsizing or damaging the sails. Paul is encouraging us to narrow our focus to prevent shipwreck. Narrowing our focus means to not get distracted from the things that God calls us to accomplish.

whooooooa. This summer was very rough and September was even harder as I was being transitioned by the hand of the Father. I can concur with this message, very accurate for me. Most of the words I read from the prophets are aligning up with this word and others for this year and season…blessings to you, your labor wasnt in vain and if this has only helped ME than to God be the glory!

This word confirmed a lot of things for me. Then, after I read Georgia W.’s post, I realized that I turned 50 in February of this year…a year of Jubilee! I’m not quite sure what exactly that means, but it’s gotta be good! LOL! Thanks, Doug!

Doug, it makes me happy to hear you talk about your approach to evangelism and destiny. Something religious breaks off me every time. Rapid changes have come our way. Renting for 15 yrs to a new house in new town in 30 days. Both my husband and I turn 50 this year. And I was reading Hab 3:16 rest in the day of trouble (while fearful and amazing things are happening all around us)!
